Mark Sheppard was tight-lipped about the number of episode he’d be appearing in on the upcoming season of Supernatural, but a bit of casting news confirms we’ll definitely be seeing a little bit more Crowley!

EW has learned exclusively that James Patrick Stewart, who CW frequents know as Naomi’s dad on 90210, will be appearing in the sixth episode of Supernatural this season as a new baddie named Richard Roman. Showrunner Sera Gamble explains: “Richard is a very canny, charming, well-connected new adversary. When we first meet him, Crowley has sought him out specifically to join forces with him to pursue common interests. Put it this way: Crowley doesn’t bring a muffin basket to just anyone.”

Stewart, whose other credits include All My Children and CSI, is set to appear in one episode so far. Supernatural season 7 premieres Sept. 23. Check out a promo for the new season premiere below:

    Can’t wait!

Crowley’s story actually sounds like the most interesting thing that will take place this season.

The “Who Killed Will” storyline was one of the best soap mysteries ever.

    • Annie

      LOVED that storyline!!!

  • Mika

OMG! I loved Will Cordlandt. I still won’t be watching Supernatural, but I loved this actor on AMC.

  • callie

Looks good but I will say this the showrunners should bring back the old Cass or they should kill him off.

I tried to watch supernatural after the 3rd season….but after that ,my schedule got uber busy and the show seemed to go down hill…now the guy from dr who is inthere ( crowly) and im starting to get bak into it, but i have no clue wats going on……sigh…

Don’t feel badly – often in this past season, the writers didn’t know what was going on, either.

Totally agree. I love Supernatural and I’m not one of those purists that think it should have ended just because Kripke stepped down after season 5 – HOWEVER, I was very disappointed with season 6. It lost some of the charm and humor. I watched all the episodes but I didn’t look forward to them anymore. I don’t want to give up on it but I’m looking at season 7 as a chore to watch.

It seemed to me the writers knew exactly where they were going with the storylines. There were some nice twists and I thought Season 6 was very interesting and clever.

You should try to catch up. The last few seasons have been fantastic.

    • shantie

Yeah they should have ended this awful show after season 5 I don’t even bother anymore.

      • Kate

And yet you still read articles about the show and feel the need to let everyone know you don’t like it. I’m sorry you have such a boring life, but you don’t need to make mean comments about things others like.

I love Supernatural can’t wait for season 7, see Sam, Dean again. Crowley is a badass hope new guy is a badass too

ENOUGH with the religious BS, Supernatural! Let’s get back to basics!

  • imasoapfan

James Patrick Stewart was so good on All My Children. As others have mentioned, the “Who Killed Will?” murder mystery was excellent. Loved the classic Soap Opera Weekly cover where every suspect was in trenchcoats.

  • T

    Literally can’t wait!

  • harry

  • Tracy

    I. Cannot. Wait.

  • Leila

this show is awesome and i love everything i hear about the new season [except i don't want to lose Cas! fingers crossed he will be back regulalry!] i love the imagery of crowley with the muffin basket–it says everything about how they frame that character [even if she is just kidding]. love it love it love it!!!

  • Ferniesfreckles
