In case you’ve wondered what T.I. has been up to over the past few hours since being released from prison, VH1 will make sure you don’t miss a moment of the rapper’s life after the clink. Set to debut on Dec. 5 at 10 p.m., the yet-to-be-titled reality show will feature the Grammy winner’s life after serving nearly a year of hard time for parole violation, which stemmed from a 2008 weapons conviction.

According to a statement from VH1, the 10-episode series will not only show how the troubled 30-year-old star, who was released nearly a month earlier than he was scheduled to, is readjusting to the real world, but will also follow the musician as he heads back to the studio to record again. It will also chronicle his relationship with his children and his wife, Xscape’s Tameka “Tiny” Cottle. Cottle was also arrested with T.I. back in September 2010, on suspicion of drug possession during a traffic stop in Los Angeles. VH1 promises, “Viewers will get a glimpse into the very loving and always fascinating relationship between T.I. and his wife Tameka, who has faithfully stood by T.I.’s side through it all … Tameka and T.I. are passionately in love, but both know that this previous incarceration has to be his last.”

Jeff Olde, the Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Production at VH1, added, “Viewers have always connected with T.I. and we are definitely thrilled to show the next chapter of this incredible artist’s riveting life with this new series. T.I. is such a multi- talented artist and actor, and though he has had some setbacks, there is no doubt he will use his considerable talents to get back on top of both the music and film business.” T.I. was also the subject of a 2010 episode of Storytellers on the network.

I like TI…I really do. However, does everything have to become a reality show???? I’m sick of it. Extreme Couponing! Hoarders! Storage Wars! Teen Moms! Amazing Wedding Cakes! The Kardashians! Next on Bravo….a reality show documenting Gaga’s transformation to Jo Calderone. Wait, I better not give them any ideas.

  • wow

    STUPID!

    • Kim

Another show to add to my “shows I wouldn’t watch if someone had a gun to my head” list.

  • Boof

This botard gets a TV show after doing hard time but Lindsay Lohan is condemned by the masses and can’t get a job to save her life and all she did was get a DUI. Amazing!

My grandpa was killed by a drunk driver, so I’m not exactly sympathetic to LiLo. But you make a valid point that T.I. gets to reestablish himself despite some really stupid, bonehead moves, and LiLo can’t get her career back on track even though she seems to by trying to straighten out her life. Proof once again that the double standard still exists.

      • Mr. Zheru

Yes, because white people are usually soooooo downtrodden and discriminated against.

      • Mr. So & So

        yeah that’s racist

      • @Zheru & So&So

Where was race mentioned? Sexism is the issue of concern here. A woman who “screws up” is more easily condemned than a guy who does the same (or worse).

His actions are expected where as she is looked as we don’t behave that way, double standards apply even in the celeberty world.

  • Shorty

Rewarding people like this with a tv show is disturbing and just plain wrong. VH1, scraping the bottom of the barrel again.

T.I. is a rat. He didnt serve “hard time”. More like martha stewart time.

    • Bigbro

you need to learn how to spell and use correct diction!

  • Bigbro

It wont be long before he’s back in, besides he can’t stop the gun love thing

  • PN

I know he’s trying to make a comeback with this reality show, but why? Why doesn’t he focus on recording his next album? He could have gotten it out by early 2012 and challenge Lil’Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake and others for chart postitions. Don’t be boasting about your post prison, post jail time. I like T.I.’s music but some things are meant to be done and said in PRIVATE!

Great article. I cant wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.
