Cobra Starship to rock out on '90210' -- EXCLUSIVE

Cobra-Starship-band

Cobra Starship is headed to the home of good girls gone bad90210.

The band, known for hits like “You Make Me Feel” and “Good Girls Go Bad,” will appear in a special Rock the Vote episode of the show airing in October, EW has learned. In the episode, Naomi will host a lavish voter registration party at her mansion, where Cobra Starship will perform their song “#1Nite” from their album Night Shades (out Aug. 29).

The announcement comes on the heels of casting news EW brought you last week about former TeenNick star Ryan Rottman joining the show for at least an episode as a gay college student who stumps for marriage equality on the apparently politically-charged season of 90210, which premieres Sept. 13 at 8 p.m.

'Glee Project' winners relive last night's shocking twist!

Last night, Glee Project judge and executive producer Ryan Murphy surprised everyone, including the contestants, by announcing that there were TWO winners of the reality competition: Samuel Larsen, 19, and Damian McGinty, 18 both won seven-episode arcs this season on Fox’s hit series. But Murphy wasn’t done with the twists: runners-up Lindsay Pearce, 20, and Alex Newell, 18, would ALSO receive two-episode arcs during Glee‘s third season. Says McGinty, “For the four of us, it’s an amazing feeling knowing that as a group and as a unit we have all basically got ourselves a part on Glee. So in many ways all four of us won at this point.”

EW talked to Larsen and McGinty about their big wins last night.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Take me through being named the winners last night.
SAMUEL LARSEN: I think the best way to describe it is I basically forgot how to function as a human being. It felt like I was floating or something. I was flipping out! It felt like I couldn’t do anything.
DAMIAN MCGINTY: Ryan said great things about us. But then he said,” Samuel, you’ve won The Glee Project.” For me, it was very much a sinking feeling. READ FULL STORY »

Discovery's 'Man, Woman, Wild' season premiere to feature boat enema -- EXCLUSIVE CLIP

Categories: Reality TV, Television

It’s been a year and a half since we saw someone have an enema on a Discovery show as a last resort for hydration. We are due!

Cue the Sept. 2 second season premiere of Man, Woman, Wild, which shows how Mykel Hawke, a former Special Forces survival expert, and his wife Ruth England, a TV journalist, band together while stuck in a boat in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. In the exclusive clip below, we see what happens when Mykel gets seasick and loses too many fluids — he asks Ruth to give him an enema using dirty rain water so that his bowel will absorb a small fraction of it. Were we Ruth, we’d have pointed out that Bear Grylls managed to give himself an enema on a raft in the Pacific. Then again, Mykel’s plan to take the dirty water up his backside means Ruth gets to drink the last of their clean water, so no wonder she doesn’t hesitate for long before saying, “I’ll do it.”

Naturally, Ruth handles most of the color commentary from there, save Mykel’s “Now I’m gonna configure to receive enema.” Enjoy! (You’re welcome.) READ FULL STORY »

'Survivor: South Pacific': New cast and new twists revealed!

Credit: Monty Brinton/CBS

Russell Hantz may not be part of the new season of Survivor…but his nephew is. 19-year-old Brandon Hantz is one of 16 new contestants that will be competing for the million dollars when Survivor: South Pacific kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 14 on CBS. Among the players joining him is a former Miss America contestant, a country music singer, a Lingerie Football League player, and a medical marijuana dispensary owner. However, these players will not just have to battle each other. They will also have to take on two returning players, whose names will be revealed later in the week.

In addition to the two returning players, two of the new contestants already have experience on reality television. Country crooner Whitney Duncan placed fifth on the fifth season of Nashville Star, while former Miss Washington Elyse Umemoto appeared on Miss America: Reality Check, TLC’s reality show that accompanied the 2008 Miss America pageant, in which Umemoto was the second runner-up. (She later had to deal with a bit of controversy after photos surfaced of Umemoto partying and making sexually suggestive poses). Other contestants with notable occupations include lingerie football player (and Playboy cover girl) Mikayla Wingle and medical marijuana dispensary owner Jim Rice. READ FULL STORY »

'True Blood': Stephen Moyer weighs in on Bill and Sookie's future

true-blood

Fans of True Blood’s Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) have had a rough season. First, his lady love Sookie (Anna Paquin) was AWOL for more than a year in the fairy world, only to have Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) claim “ownership” of her when she returned. Then, to make matters worse, the Nordic vampire’s Lapland-cold heart thawed after witches made him forget his thousand-year history of slaughter. Suddenly, Eric was a lovesick puppydog, and fans of Bill watched in horror as he and Sookie engaged in some epic moonlit shagging. And if that didn’t make you think it’s hard out here for a vamp, last week Bill found himself dragged off by the same coven that had cursed Eric. Maybe Stephen Moyer can bare his fangs and help us make sense of Bill’s ill fortune. READ FULL STORY »

Thanks Abercrombie! 'Jersey Shore' ratings rise

Abercrombie & Fitch’s stock may have dropped after trying to take down The Situation, but the Jersey Shore cast had the last laugh Thursday night when the reality hit’s ratings went up.

Shore was seen by 7.8 million viewers last night. (Check out EW’s recap here.) Though that’s firmly lower than the show’s mammoth season premiere, the number is up 5 percent from last week — before the media had united the passé clothing retailer and the MTV reality show into the same unholy headline. Shore‘s rating among the adult demo, by the way, is a 4.1 — massive for cable, and a hit by broadcast network standards too.

Also last night, the season 2 premiere of A&E’s Beyond Scared Straight delivered 2.7 million viewers — definitely strong, though 27 percent less than the documentary show’s January series premiere that ranked as A&E’s biggest launch ever.

'One Tree Hill' has found its hit man -- EXCLUSIVE

Categories: Scoop

Who’s the hit man coming to One Tree Hill?

Character actor Andrew Elvis Miller will play a deadly killer in the upcoming ninth and final season of CW’s veteran soap.

Miller’s character is a Eastern European assassin with a flair for the dramatic (and, from the looks of things, rather nice teeth). Miller has previously appeared in episodes of The Sopranos, Ugly Betty and Criminal Minds.

Especially since it’s the final season, the presence of hit man on the show could mean some serious stuff is about to go down  … who would you like Miller to whack?
