USA has renewed White Collar for a fourth season, and purchased a healthy 16 episodes to boot.

The drama series has averaged about 5.7 million viewers this summer. The show returns in January for the second half of the third season, then USA will presumably split up the fourth season too.

News comes on the heels of USA renewing new shows Necessary Roughness and Suits for a second round, but cancelling In Plain Sight.

'Suits' star Patrick J. Adams talks love triangle, nails the EW Pop Culture Personality Test

On USA’s summer hit Suits, Patrick J. Adams stars as Mike Ross, a young man without a law degree but with a photographic memory, who gets hired by one of New York City’s top closers (Gabriel Macht’s Harvey Specter) to be an associate at a law firm that only hires Harvard Law alums. In addition to his bromance with mentor Harvey, Mike has also found romance with his former best friend’s ex Jenny (Vanessa Ray), after pining for and being rejected by paralegal Rachel (Meghan Markle), who doesn’t date anyone from the office.

Fans of that love triangle won’t want to miss tonight’s episode (10 p.m. ET). “It definitely takes a nice little step forward,” Adams says, “but the thing that I love about the show is that it really moves at its own pace and it’s keeping people waiting, so I would say that it’s like one step forward, two steps back almost. Mike-Rachel is a difficult relationship. It takes a lot of confidence, I think, to end up with the woman who you always imagined yourself with, and I don’t know if Mike’s entirely there, but it’s fun to see him batted around a little bit and keep trying it out. And it’s fun to watch how Rachel grows to really care about Mike, even though she stated from the onset that that was never gonna happen. The fact is Meghan and I just have the best time working together, so we love drawing this thing out. Plus, we’re such good friends that we’re just waiting for season 4 when we’re in bed together and how weird that’s gonna be.”

In the meantime, since Mike made his living pre-Harvey taking the LSATs for people, we thought we’d see how Adams, who turns 30 on Saturday, scored on one of our EW Pop Culture Personality Tests. He definitely passed.  READ FULL STORY »

Are you ready some football on The Biggest Loser? The Oct. 4 episode of NBC’s weight-loss competition series will feature appearances by a handful of NFL players, including New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, and Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson, EW has learned. Some of the athletes will be seen competing against the contestants in a throwing contest, while others help the pound shedders with their “Last Chance Workout” before that week’s weigh-in. “It’s not just some great athlete coming out and saying ‘Hey, look at me!’” says BL exec producer Todd Lubin. “We actually get to their stories — and these NFL guys have unbelievable stories. Drew had a major debilitating injury, came back and won a Super Bowl, so his message was, ‘Whatever the adversity is, you’ve got to fight through it.’” Lubin also quips: “It’s a good chance to get the men to watch Biggest Loser alongside their wives.”

The show has previously featured such NFL stars as Steve Young, Jerry Rice, Kurt Warner, and Rod Woodson. The season 12 premiere, with new trainers Anna Kournikova and Dolvett Quince, airs Sept. 20.

Real World: San Diego. Yes, it’s more of the same. But if you’re a fan, you know you’ll love it and watch it all the same. Props to the housemate giving her analysis of one-night stands: “I just don’t know if I have the emotional stability to undergo that kind of procedure.” And, really, a shooting range? Giving the Real World cast weapons seems like a bad idea, no? READ FULL STORY »

It’s a Freaky Friday reunion for NCIS star Mark Harmon and Jamie Lee Curtis. Curtis has been booked for two episodes of TV’s top-rated drama that will air in November. She’ll play strong-willed career woman and single mom Charlotte Ryan, from the Office of the Inspector General in the Department of Defense, who will spar with Gibbs and the team. Says exec producer Gary Glasberg, “The role of ‘Charlotte Ryan’ got even better when the enormously talented Jamie Lee Curtis agreed to join us. Jamie’s shoot-from-the-hip style embodies everything we want from Ryan — humor, heart, strength, and a lot of fun. We couldn’t be more excited she’s here. And don’t be surprised if there are sparks between Gibbs and Ryan. We’re expecting some real chemistry.”

NCIS kicks off its ninth season on Sept. 20 on CBS.

'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia': Never before seen clip from the hilarious 'Lethal Weapon 5' -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are back!!! Only, not really. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans no doubt remember last season’s genius episode where the gang decided to make their own version of Lethal Weapon 5. Fans also no doubt remember wishing they could see more. Well, now they can! An extended cut of Lethal Weapon 5 will be available on the show’s Season 6 Blu-ray and DVD sets (out on Sept. 13). To whet your appetite, we’ve got an exclusive clip from the cinematic tour de force right here. In it, Mac and Dennis (playing Gibson’s Martin Riggs and Glover’s Roger Murtaugh, respectively — although they would switch roles halfway through the film because that’s how incredible Lethal Weapon 5 is) interrogate a prostitute (played by Artemis) as they struggle to solve the mystery of the tainted tap water. Check it out for yourself in the video player below, but be warned: This is a scene involving a hooker on It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, so it’s a pretty good bet there is some slightly NSFW language to be had. 'House': Hugh Laurie gets roughed up in new season 8 promo! -- VIDEO

Categories: House, Television

Judging by the just-released promo, season 8 looks to be filled with tough times for Dr. Gregory House — and a fair amount of ass-kickings.

After crashing his car into Cuddy’s home at the end of last season and then fleeing to an undisclosed beach-y location, it doesn’t look like House escaped justice after all. (Of course, if you keep up with spoilers, you already knew that.)

Sure, we know you’re not totally happy about a Cuddy-less House, but am I alone in thinking this trip to prison looks pretty darn awesome? It could be the Justified-esque music that plays in the promo effecting my opinion or the oddly attractive longer hair on Laurie. But I don’t think that’s it. Like in the psychiatric ward episodes in season 6, I love seeing House out of his element. It always serves as a good way to keep him on his toes, and after a mixed bag of a season last year, that’s exactly what we need.

Syfy’s update of the classic sci-fi story The Philadelphia Experiment has cast legendary actor Malcolm McDowell, along with with several other notable names.

McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Entourage) is joined by Nicholas Lea (V, Kyle XY), Michael Paré (Virgin Suicides), Gina Holden (Saw 3D, Final Destination), and Sanctuary vets Ryan Robbins and Emilie Ullerup.

Syfy’s new movie version of The Philadelphia Experiment is based on a mythical 1943 U.S. Navy military test that supposedly made a warship invisible. The story was adapted to a 1984 movie of the same name — which, by the way, starred Paré — and added a sci-fi twist: Two survivors of the experiment traveled forward in time. READ FULL STORY »

Sharks or a teen witch scorned: Which is more dangerous? Shark Night 3D‘s Chris Zylka will soon find out. He’s set to guest on The CW’s new fall drama The Secret Circle as Billy, a young man who broke the heart of Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) — the most volatile of the six Chance Harbor High classmates who, we’ll learn in the Sept. 15 premiere, must bind their newfound magical powers to not only control them but also to protect themselves from a mysterious threat. Naturally, when Billy returns to town, Faye has revenge on her mind. And that should be fun. As exec producer Kevin Williamson described the character to EW earlier this summer, “Faye will be a force to be reckoned with. You’ll love to hate her, and you can’t wait to see what she does next…. Faye has the whole journey of right and wrong. That’s the thing with all of them. There’s good witches and bad witches. It’s that epic story of battling the good and bad inside of you.”  READ FULL STORY »
