Comic actor Jay Mohr is suiting up for NBC’s cop drama Prime Suspect.

Mohr will be in the show’s first season in a guest appearance that could turn into a recurring role. He’ll play slick New York City assistant district attorney John Bullock — a man considered good at his job, though not exactly on the same wavelength as Maria Bello’s Jane Timoney (but will he wear a hat?).

Mohr most recently starred in the CBS sitcom Gary Unmarried, and before that, was in The Ghost Whisperer for a couple years, and is still remembered for his breakout role in Jerry Maguire. NBC’s Prime Suspect premieres on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 10 p.m. Here’s NBC’s four-minute preview of the show: READ FULL STORY »

'Hung': Ray goes to battle with 'Vampire Diaries' alum! -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Categories: EW Exclusive, Television

There’s new blood on this season of Hung… and it’s young, hot, and presumably, hung.

But Ray (Thomas Jane) and Tanya (Jane Adams) aren’t going down without a fight by the looks of this exclusive, somewhat NSFW season 3 promo, featuring former Vampire Diaries guest star Stephen Amell (who appeared on last season as werewolf Brady). Amell plays Jason, Lenore’s (Rebecca Creskoff) newbie escort. If this teaser is any indicator of the man-fight about to ensue, I say, let the games begin!

The new season kicks off Oct. 2. READ FULL STORY »

January Jones is 'not as approachable as others,' says Bobby Draper

Seems Zach Galifianakis isn’t the only person that has a problem with January Jones. Jared Gilmore — the actor formerly known as Don and Betty’s son, Bobby Draper (Gilmore left Mad Men for ABC’s Once Upon a Time) — also told a reporter that the Mad Men and X-Men: First Class actress is, well, frosty. When TV Guide asked Gilmore for advice for his replacement, the young actor responded, “Be careful around January [Jones]. She’s not as approachable as the others. She’s really serious about what she does. Everyone else is so nice.”

Jones’ rep has not immediately responded to EW’s request for comment. Looks like Sally isn’t the only young Draper who’s Team Don. Kids say the darndest things!

David Letterman mocks jihadist threat in monologue, Top 10 list

Categories: Late Night, Television

David Letterman can’t be too worried about the jihadist threats made against him last week — because he seems to be having a pretty good time laughing about them. And if anything, he likely pushed a few more buttons Monday night.

Most of Letterman’s Monday night monologue (a clip embedded below) and his Top 10 list were dedicated to addressing the threats against him that posted last week on a website frequently utilized by Al-Qaeda to communicate messages. “You people, to me, are more than an audience; you’re more like a human shield,” Letterman began. “I’m so sorry I’m a little late coming out. Backstage, I was talking to a guy from CBS, we were going through the CBS life insurance policy to see if I was covered for jihad.”

As for the threats themselves, Letterman joked that this wasn’t his first time, saying: “I wish I had a nickel for every time a guy has threatened to cut my tongue out. I think the first time was at the Academy Awards — during the Academy Awards.”

“Everybody’s so sensitive,” Letterman added, before digging his teeth back into the material that seemingly got him into hot water in the first place. “But I’ll tell you, Bin Laden, when they killed him, he’d been locked in his house with six wives for three years. So when the SEALS walked in he said, ‘Just shoot me.’”

“I was looking at the documents earlier today — I don’t know if you’re aware of this — when he was assassinated, Bin Laden, was late arriving in hell. Did you know that? He had to go through Newark. [And] there was a clerical error when he arrived in the afterlife. He was met by 72 vegans.”

Below is the top ten list Letterman presented, titled “Top 10 thoughts went through my mind after hearing about the threat”: READ FULL STORY »

Anderson Cooper talks his on-air laughing fit: 'I've always giggled like a 13-year-old girl at a Justin Bieber meet and greet'

It’s safe to say Anderson Cooper finds laughs in bathroom humor. Just last Thursday, a video clip from Cooper’s CNN show, Anderson Cooper 360, went viral after the anchor fell into an mean case of the giggles during his “Ridiculist” segment. The subject? Actor Gerard Depardieu’s airplane urination which Cooper said at least wasn’t a “Depar-TWO.”

Now, Cooper tells EW he’s even surprised by how popular the footage became. “I don’t know what happened with the giggling,” Cooper tells EW. “I mean, I’ve always giggled like a 13 year-old girl at a Justin Bieber meet and greet. There’s nothing I can do about it but I’ve never not been able to stop. I’m a little stunned by how many people have seen that video. I went to bed telling myself, ‘I doubt anyone will notice the giggle fit.’ I woke up and in the elevator the first thing my building super said to me was, ‘What’s wrong with your laugh?’ It could be worse: I could have a viral video in which I throw up on a guest or drunkenly eat a hamburger on a bathroom floor. Not that I’ve ever done either of those things. Not yet at least.” READ FULL STORY »
