Adorable hipster Zooey Deschanel just gained an adorable hipster love interest on The New Girl. Justin Long (Going the Distance) will recur for three episodes on the new Fox comedy, playing Paul, a music teacher and and a suitor for Deschanel’s character Jess. It seems like a match made in heaven, but Paul may have some heavy competition from Jess’ three male roommates. The show will focus on the recently jilted Jess as she transitions from life in a serious relationship to life in an apartment with three random guys, so Paul will probably have issues if he wants some alone time.
New Girl will premiere Sept. 20 at 9 p.m. on Fox, with Long’s arc set to begin on episode six. With Long’s presence, how many Macs should we expect to see in that apartment?

Geez, the previews of this show were so promising. It was going to be about her rediscovering how to interact socially and all that. Now we’re already casting a love interest? Talk about ruining the premise of a show before it airs!

Part of the appeal of New Girl was that she didn’t have a love interest and was inept at finding one. What does Fox do? Run over the show’s one major point with a bus. Good one, Fox! You ruined it for everyone! I hope you’re happy and Simon Cowell shakes you down for lunch money after school.
It’s just three eps, people! Don’t be so down on the “love interest.” At three spisodes, I’d say it’s an unsuccessful relationship, probably just for laughs only. And see Going the Distance, vastly underrated.

he is unattractive, unfunny, cannot act, he is like if you need “some guy” he is just there; how he got a part in a Die Hard movie with Bruce Willis is even more astounding; do people in Hollywood owe Drew Barrymore some favors? seriously. as for Zooey, I think she would be a lot more adorable if she stopped thinking it so much
