EW has learned Switched at Birth‘s Katie Leclerc will guest in the fourth episode of this season as a potential love interest for the love-challenged scientist.
Leclerc will appear in the Oct. 6 as Emily, a deaf friend of Penny’s who hits it off with Raj, who we know has problems with talking to women (while sober).

There had been a joke in one of the previous seasons that Raj dated a deaf girl and it was the perfect situation for him since he didn’t have to talk. I’m curious if the writers forgot aout that or if it might be the same girl finally making an appearance – either way, I’m excited to see it!
It would not be the same girl as she is a friend of Penny’s. I love Katie on Switched at Birth. Since it was renewed for a second season she may have only a short arc on BB. But who knows, the shooting schedule may be different. I’m anxious to see how it all plays out.
I LOVE THIS!!!!!!! She is absolutely fantastic on Switched at Birth which is a terrfic show, and its about time Raj got a girlfriend. Also good for CBS showing a interracial couple, especially an indian man and white woman
