Before we head off for a long, labor-free Labor Day weekend, let me offer you a behind-the-scenes look at some very hard-working people: the cast of Criminal Minds.
In early August, I visited the set of the CBS procedural to get a sense of what’s going on at the BAU now that A.J. Cook and Paget Brewster are back full time (and test Matthew Gray Gubler’s skateboarding skills ).
Take a look at the video below, featuring the aforementioned, Joe Mantegna (pictured), Shemar Moore, Kirsten Vangsness, and fearless team leader Thomas Gibson. I apologize in advance for my terrible camera skills, but hopefully that doesn’t put a damper on the cast’s (and, I’m guessing, the fans’) prevailing message: This is a reunion to look forward to.

Thank you…she is one of the most ridiculous characters on TV. No way a woman who dresses and acts like that is working in such a sensitive, hardcore department of the FBI…I don’t care how much a computer genius she’s supposed to be.
Oh Z, little do you know. I have worked around people EXACTLY like Garcia. When they are super good at what they do, the computer industry could care less what they wear. Hell, Intel picks their people up by plane – to travel only 35 miles.
I agree with Imeltinghere!. It’s highly unlikely, but she’s a computer genius and her talent if valued. Although I doubt she’d pass the physical fitness test, but apparently they made exceptions for Reid, so who knows. Besides it’s TV, so you have to give them a little gap in reality
My brother has worked for the FBI for over 20 years. They have very strict dress and personal conduct codes. There is NO way she’d be allowed to have all those stuffed animals at her desk, wear all those crazy outfits or talk to people like she does to Morgan with all that sexual innuendo. Plus the number of times she’s broken protocol by hacking into FBI files? She’d have been fired a dozen times by now. Yes she’s a computer genius but the FBI would simply not allow it.
That said it’s a TV show so some disbelief has to be suspended. But don’t believe for one minute that this is the way someone in the real FBI would be allowed to act.

This is the only procedural I watch an it’s 100% because of the cast/characters… Their casting decisions proved to be disastrous and i’m glad they realized it. Although season 7 will probably be awesome because of going through all that drama. Looking forward to the team back together
I just love this cast and I’m glad the fans made themselves be heard.

I love the show and the cast, and I’m glad that any petition I signed or group I joined may have contributed to their reunion. I will admit, Garcia annoyed me a bit at first, seeming like a technicolor Abby Sciuto. The character has depth that has come out slowly, and the inappropriate comments seem to have been toned down.
Yes, Paget, we are VERY happy that you and A.J. are back! Can’t wait!
Giving up CRIMINAL MINDS this season ’cause bringing back Prentiss is like a 24 character who’s coming back from the dead.
Prentiss NEVER was dead to begin with. Just saying.
Yay Paget Brewster is back… Emily Prentiss is my favorite character… I’m looking forward to some Prentiss/Reid scenes i might be the only one that likes them together but whatever i’m just glad everyones back together!!!!!!!
I love Emily and Spencer together. Which CM would throw a little romance their way. Bones does it and it makes the show better.
“Throw a little romance their way” … O_o Are you serious? They are like BROTHER AND SISTER. Even Emily and Morgan make more sense than that.

I’m with you Sam, but more mother/son than brother/sister from my point of view, and YES, HOTCH AND EMILY ALL THE WAY. They really need to have scenes together this season. They were never together last season, mainly because we barely saw Hotch, he was probably the less viewed main character in the history of TV shows in an entire season. I just want lots and lots of scenes with them together, and I agree with what someone posted on tumblr about the season premiere promo, Emily just got back and she is already being paired with Morgan? After the entire sixth season? Come on! There plenty of members in that team. It would make me very, very happy if Morgan and Emily never, ever, shared a scene again. Reid and Emily as a couple = INCEST!
Bones does it all the time? We had to wait 6 season to have some close interaction between Booth and Brennan and we didn’t even knew until the finale aired that they had had sex, and when season 7 starts we will see that they are not a couple. From what I’ve seen in spoilers, they’re just living together because she is pregnant with his child, but they are very far from being a regular couple or even a couple. But they will get together and hopefully they even get married, if, of course, she changes her mind about never wanting to get married, and then they’d be the perfect family.
@CM You’re right, Emily is more of a protective maternal figure to Reid and any romance between them would be borderline incestuous.
I also noticed that the promo showed Morgan and Emily rushing in to save that blonde woman (tied to the chair) together. I guess they’ve conveniently forgotten about how he was judging the hell out of her after finding out about Doyle.
Anyway, the show definitely needs more Hotch and Emily scenes; they’ve dropped the ball from season 5 when they were getting close. C’mon writers!
Emily and Hotch? EW! No way should they get together, I’d hate that. Emily and Reid would be cute, but Emily and Morgan even better. Emily and Hotch have no chemistry whatsoever, I hate that pairing.
CM why not just say you want more HP? I understand there was a lack of it in season 6 and that HP shippers want more, but why put the caveat on of no Morgan and Emily and upsetting the R/P & M/P shippers This is spiteful and not what this fandom needs. It’s rubbish like this that divides the fandom and causes the inter-ship hate. Please think about stopping and let everyone enjoy this show the way the want to.

I don’t think anything was ‘conveniently forgotten’, I think Morgan knows his job is to catch bad guys and save peoples lives. What would you expect him to do, throw a fit and lock himself in the bathrooms until Prentiss apologzes for trying to protect her team?
The people who want Reid/Prentiss together are watching the same show as me? The remind me of a big sister/ little brother and mother/son relationship! Hotch and Prentiss make the most sense at this point in time because of their age and place in life. The writers have always thrown hints that Reid is secretly in love with JJ! As for Morgan/Emily it does make more sense then Reid/Emily, but they have a more of best friends vibe to me!
Yes Paget I’m very, very glad that you’re back and A.J too. Petitioning for both your return was the first petition I ever signed and campained for and now I’m impatiently waiting for the season premiere.
im glad jj is back,thats my girl and i love garcia. shes unique and i like that. cm has the best cast now that everybody is back.
