Chris Harrison to host feel-good game show on ABC -- EXCLUSIVE

Chris-Harrison

ABC is planning to give Bachelor/Bachelorette/Bachelor Pad host Chris Harrison more to do than announce the “final rose tonight”: EW has confirmed exclusively that Harrison will emcee a new game show called You Deserve It, in which players compete to win up to $500,000 for someone else — usually a family member — who is in need. No premiere date has been set yet for the quiz show, which will begin taping six episodes in October.

Whoa – this is way to positive for Chris to be hosting. Did he finally earn his wings and shed himself of hosting the worst mankind has to offer?

Whatever happened to the $25,000 winning game shows of the past? Or maybe that sounds so 1980s to today’s game show producers, so they increased it to $500,000. You know that they’re not going to have any to no winners. They didn’t have any $1 million winners on Regis Philbin’s Million Dollar Password in its short run on CBS, so why do they think that someone’s going to win $500,000? The contestants stop too early and take the money on some of these shows. But I can’t wait to see Chris Harrison host this new game show. He has that perfect game show host look, almost like Pat Sajak in the ’80s. I’m kind of tired of seeing him on Bachelor or Bachelorette and later finding that the joined couples are no longer together.

Try late 1970′s, when 10K Pyramid became 25k.

Why is it that game shows always give away money? Think outside the box, give away something else..Rumba lessons, free snickers for life, a years supply of lawn seed…anything.

I can’t stand this guy, mostly because all of the shows he is involved in are poorly scripted reality crap that s8ck monkey b@lls. Maybe this new one will redeem his career.

Good for Chris! Saw this one coming when I read his Bachelorpad Blog this week. His hint was pretty specific, Am sure the show will have a built-in fan base from the start. As I said earlier this week on his blog, just don’t want him leaving the other show, He’s TOO much a part of the Bachelor family. But doing both, so long as he’s happy–way to go, Chris!

What a smug jerk Chris Harrison is. I wonder if he will actually earn his paycheck on this show. Heaven knows the guy is a useless piece of crap on the Bachelor.

    • ghostlight

No, I’m sure he’ll be the exact same useless piece of crap on the game show. But all the toothless old ladies with Alzheimers will still want to pinch his cheeks.

Good luck Chris with your new show.I think you will be great. Would love to be on your show but I am sorry to say I am home bound.Again good luck and GOD BLESS

Seriously, when is this network going to stop promoting this shill for everything they have going on there reality-wise?

  • Matt2

This sounds like a real tear jerker that could actually pay off for ABC as well as the contestants. Imagine a poor, single grandma raising her drug addicted daughter’s kids and trying to answer questions to win enough money to send the kids to college and help pay the bills. Those type of scenarios could draw millions of families to the network. Look at the success of Secret Millionaire.
