'Rescue Me' finale strikes ratings high; 'Paranormal Witness' fair

Rescue Me went out on a relative high note in the ratings: The show’s final episode delivered 2.3 million viewers — the show’s most-watched episode since 2007. On A&E, Storage Wars hit an all-time series high, verging into crazy-ratings Pawn Stars territory. A total of 5.3 million viewers tuned in for the 10:30 p.m. episode.

Meanwhile over on Syfy, new docu-horror reality series Paranormal Witness was no Ghost Hunters: The show opened to 1.3 million viewers, coming in below the premiere of Haunted Collector earlier this summer and below the seventh midseason premiere of Hunters awhile back. Still, Paranormal doubled the last March’s premiere rating of that favorite whipping boy of Syfy bashers — Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen — and provided a solid companion to the latest Hunters episode. So it’s got that going for it.

Rescue Me was a great show, with a great cast ! I will miss it dearly ! The final episode was a brilliant mix of humor and sadness.

It’s a sad commentary on the state of television that a reality show about junk pulls in more than twice as many viewers than the series finale of a well-written, award-winning, hilarious, relevant show like Rescue Me.

I was just thinking that. I don’t like reality tv and don’t watch it. But I guess there is an audience for that stuff. It’s a shame, though.

The series finale of Rescue Me was terrific. I am so glad it went out on a high note.

Loved it, just sad it is gone and probabley going to be replaced by a “reality” show. We need more really good shows.

  • Its Um

    Loved the show too.

I’m a huge fan of “Ghost Hunters” and “Ghost Hunters International” and even liked the recent “Haunted Collector,” but I thought the premiere of “Paranormal Witness” was a little boring.

“Paranormal Witness” was average…just re-enactments…I’d rather see another original episode of Ghosthunters with Jason and Grant.

Rescue Me ended on a perfect note…”there is no Gray Food!”..perfect tv

I liked paranormal witness. The first story really had me interested and I couldn’t change the channel but the second story was a little boring.

You really make it seem really easy along with your presentation however I find this topic to be actually one thing which I believe I’d by no means understand. It seems too complicated and extremely large for me. I am taking a look ahead on your subsequent submit, I will try to get the dangle of it!
