He’s baaaack: Jim Belushi just sold a sitcom pilot to ABC.
The former According to Jim star is working on a new comedy “where a co-dependent father and his teenage daughter’s relationship is turned upside down when they are put together in a unique situation.” Diane English (Murphy Brown) is the showrunner on the “put pilot” deal (where there’s a big penalty if the project doesn’t air) for the show, which is titled You Won’t Even Know I’m Here.
So you know what this means: If Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing survives the season, we could be in for an Allen/Belushi working man’s family comedy hour.
i may give diane english the benefit of the doubt (loved murphy brown in the beginning years before it derailed), but jim belushi? no, no, no, NO!

How did According to Jim stay on the air that long? I knew white people were kind of lame, but even I couldn’t imagine they would enjoy that bland of a “comedy”
The same reason people like Rick Perry reach the national stage, Michelle Bachmann can marry a gay guy and assail gay rights at every turn and not get called on it; the same reason George W Bush got re-elected, the same reason working people are stupid enough to vote Republican. People, in general, are very very stupid, uninteresting and not intellectually curious. They need crap like Belushi to laugh at because they can understand it and feel slightly superior.
To her credit Diane English left after season 4 so she was not responsible for the derailment of Murphy Brown

According to Jim was possibly the worst shows ever. Pushing Daisies was gone and Belushi’s SO freakin’ unfunny show remained. Only because of Diane English, I will give it a try.

You guys are tough. Not one kind word. I loved him in The Defenders and was very upset that that show didn’t get another season. I didn’t like According to Jim because I felt that he didn’t match as a couple with Courtney Thorne Smith. I love her, and I always felt that they were mismatched. She’s hot and he’s ordinary. I felt if he had another actress as a wife the show would have worked better, or if she had a different husband. I never saw the attraction between them both. But I did like him in The Defenders.

Believe it or not, thisroom, there was actually one more than one person who watched (and liked) According to Jim. It was way better than the utter garbage on TV show (especially that Tyler Perry crap). I’m glad Jim Belushi’s coming back to TV and I was sad to “The Defenders” didn’t last that long. No wonder American TV sucks so bad. The people who watch it have some serious issues to address.
