'Survivor: South Pacific': Ozzy on what went wrong with Amanda and whether there will be 'jungle love' this time around

Remember how cute and cuddly Ozzy and Amanda were on Survivor: Micronesia? They were the go-to showmance for that Fans vs. Favorites season, with cameras even catching Survivor‘s first and only hot and steamy make-out session. (If you ever wondered why more couples don’t hook up on the show — as opposed to the infamous pool orgies on Big Brother — just take a look at how dirty and smelly they are out in the elements and you’ll have your answer.) But it didn’t work once these two lovebirds made their way back to the big, bad city. In our chat the day before filming began on Survivor: South Pacific, Ozzy explains what exactly happened on the island (“I’m sure there is a lot of footage that would not be suitable for home viewers, if you know what I mean.”), what went wrong when they returned home, and how he worried producers would bring Amanda and him both back to play against each other this time around as some sort of sick joke. He also says that even though his case of “jungle love” may have cost him the game last time, that he’s not against hooking up with a hottie all over again. (Oh, Ozzy, you rascal, you!) To see Ozzy tell his tale of love and loss, grab a box of Kleenex and click on the video player below. Then make sure to check him out discussing his thoughts about possibly getting voted out of the tribe…on purpose. You go Ozzy!!!

How did Amanda or “jungle love” cost him the game last time?!? Amada was completely clueless to what was about to happen that night. Parvati and Cirie were the ones who orchestrated his exit, not Amanda.

Besides, if anything cost him the game that season it was his arrogance.

THANK YOU! So well said – this is why i’m not looking forward to him this time, who f*ing needs another arrogant man on Survivor? Haven’t they reached their quota over at CBS?

      • Amanda

I didn’t see him as being so much arrogant as over-trusting in the alliance he had with Parvati. I think that, in a way, Ozzy can’t be devious enough for the “outwit” part of this game.

I just hope that, if he makes it to the final tribal council, the jury will see that he didn’t back-stab or manipulate anyone as much as Coach has and reward him for it.

    he sound like a sleaze

Why does EW keep talking like big brother is a big sexfest?? I dont watch the 24 hour footage but the one hour show is tame to say the least.

There was one couple (I forget which season) who flirted like crazy. Then one night, they disappeared into the bushes. The cameras were on but didn’t follow them. Then, the microphones picked up a “slurp” sound. Gross.

I guess some kind of emotional attachment will be inevitable when attractive strangers are confined together for extended periods of time. On The Greatest American Dog, the dogs and owners stayed in the same house together. One woman (who was engaged!) acted jealous over the friendliness between another couple.

He’s kind of a douche, but he’s still one of my favorite players ever. I hope he goes far.

Ozzy, I don’t blame you one bit for falling for Amanda. Not one bit.

  • Joy

Best Survivor Ever… he is the best at challenges. So happy to happy Ozzy back again. My favorite all time.

Well, once the merge happened, Ozzy flirted it up with the fan who had that massive crush on him.

  • Iloveozzy

Ozzy, Ozzy, but why didn’t it work with Amanda? They were so cute together. I was rooting for him the entire time and was really disappointed he didn’t win but at least won the 100000 dollars. Go Ozzy, man and I hope to see him again.
