It’s a busy week at ABC Family.
Following yesterday’s cancellation of The Nine Lives of Chloe King, the teen net announced today it has picked up four new series, one of which comes from Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. The network also renewed gymnastics-centered drama Make It or Break It for a third season and ordered an additional 10 episodes of The Lying Game.
Sherman-Palladino’s project, titled Bunheads, is a one-hour drama that follows a Las Vegas showgirl who married a man and moves to a small coastal town to teach at his mother’s dance school. The other drama picked up, Intercept, is about a group of crime-solving college students and comes from The Crazies writer Ray Wright.
The network also picked up two comedy pilots, Baby Daddy (relatively self-explanatory) and Village People (surprisingly not self-explanatory). The latter centers on a career-minded single woman who adopts a baby from a teen mom (no, not one of these) and ends up caring for the young mother as well.
YESSSSS!!! I have been waiting for MIOBI news since the finale last year.
Okay, brining back Make it or break it does mollify the Nine Lives of Chloe King axing a bit.

Has “Switched At Birth” already been renewed? I seem to recall something about it coming back in the spring but I’m not certain.
Yes it absolutely has!! New episodes hopefully in January
Yes and I actually read a release from ABC Family earlier where they compared Switched to Pretty Little Liars in terms of the success it had which makes me think it is a safe bet for at least a couple of more seasons.
Glad MIOBI is coming back! But these new pilots sound fairly lame. Like that ‘Beautiful Girls/People’ mess they tried a couple years back. MIOBI, Greek, Switched at Birth and Secret Like were all original (at the time they started)- Baby Daddy? Seriously?

You should be grateful to them. Any other network would have canceled it mid-season. The ratings were that bad.

After five episodes Chloe King had better ratings than Lying Game. Yes, due to Chloe’s stronger premier it lost more viewers but as of now, Lying Games is still going down in regards to viewers. I guess it is cheaper to produce and still has five more episodes to find an audience so ABC gambled on it. I doubt the show will get a second season though.
Oh c’mon Amy Sherman-Palladino knows what she should be working on and it’s not a new tv show…-a Gilmore girls movie!!

i am really happy to hear the MIOBI is back on but im still really sad about chloe. I LOVED THAT SHOW! i thought it was awesome. it sucks that they decided to cancel it ecspecially after such a cliff hanger of an ending. they should atleast have to have a FINAL SEASON!

ABC Family sucks. Make it or break it had nothing against nine lives of chloe king. Make it or break it was boring and it plain out sucked! you guys wouldnt know real tv if it bit you in the butt!! you all should be fired!!!!!!
please do not cancel make it or break it this is a fantasic show if you want to cancel something cancel the other stupid shows that are coming like the pretty little liers and the lying games those shows are stupid but miobi is not stupid producers
