The production company that will continue All My Children online just announced that Cameron Mathison (Ryan Lavery) and Lindsay Hartley (Dr. Cara Castillo Martin) will continue on the sudser once it goes online.

Prospect Park is expected to announce the start date of production in the coming weeks. All My Children will end its run on ABC this Friday.

This is the first casting announcement about All My Children’s future since Prospect Park acquired the sudser. The company also bought One Life to Live in an exclusive, multi-year deal that would allow the soaps to continue beyond their finale dates on ABC. One Life to Live is set to sunset in January. Prospect Park is a media and production company founded in 2009 by Jeffrey Kwatinetz and former Disney Studios head Rich Frank. (The company’s best known for producing Royal Pains for USA and Wilfred for FX.)

Earlier this month, Prospect Park announced that Erika Slezak (Victoria Lord), along with Ted King (Tomas Delgado), Michael Easton (John McBain) and Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer) have agreed to continue with One Life to Life. Prospect Park is still in the process of closing a deal for the actors with American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, which will enable the studio to sell a second window of the soaps to a cable network.

Just not the kind of person who could enjoy watching tv online. I will say goodbye to AMC this week and to OLTL in Jan. It hurts me very much that ABC is doing this!!! When they were showing old clips of Angie and Jesse today, I cried like a baby! So sad!

    • amy

I cried too! AMC has been a part of my life for so long! I used to watch with my grandma.

      • anna Sanchez

Yes, me too use to watch All My Children with my grandma. I know will cry on friday.

Boy these so called actors must not have any confidence in their skills or theyd end it the show like It’s supposed to then go find a new REAL job!

      • @lisa g

        GO AWAY!

      • Shan

A real job is one you adore going to every day. How fortunate these actors love what they do. Not all of us can say that about our jobs.

      • @lisa g

Please brush up on your spelling & grammer. Your post makes me sad!!!

      • lisa g.

My spelling n grammar are just fine! U try typing on an EVO w/ “auto correct”!

Sorry, but setting the facts straight: Soap actors are the most talented, hard working, and loyal actors their are, period. There’s no other genre that works at this pace, sometimes getting 8 episodes taped in 1 day, with no rehearsing whatsoever. James Franco recently guest starred on General Hospital and was shocked to find that the scripts he had memorize were as thick as movie scripts, pretty much on a daily basis. There are no other actors that would agree to take pay cuts, just to keep a show going, just to keep fans happy. There is no other genre that can claim over 70 years of broadcasting. These are the best of the best, and this genre might be going through a rough patch, but any negative bias associated with this genre is baseless and false.

Michelle….do u really believe these ppl would be on soaps if they could get mainstream work? I don’t question their work ethic but some of the acting is laughable!

      • bigelow

I agree………just go away! No one cares what you have to say!!!! Pitiful!!!

      • amy

Go get a real job? Who the hell are you and what makes you so superior to judge what someone else chooses to do for a job. People with attitudes like yours make me sick. Those actors gave millions of people alot of enjoyment! That is ultimately the most important thing. Not opinions from smug little minds like yours.

When they started to show the old days with the Hubbards today reality hit me that the end is coming. I was praying ABC woudl of had a change of heart. This had been in my life since I was 14 and I am now 50. It is like losing a real family member.

      • @annette

Damn, Annette. Like losing a family member? How many cats do you have?

      • Jill

Are @annette and lisa g. the same obnoxious troll, or are they more than one person?

      • lisa g.

Jill, r u Jill zarin? I mean u two share the same name n all! Look I can be dumb too….hehe

    • lisa g.

Does anyone else recall when this guy was busted wearing a g string? Lmaoooo he will be coming out the closet n another 5 years!

There are COUNTLESS daytime actors who simultaneously juggle careers in theatre or primetime, and so forth. I watch these people every day, and I would honestly say that at least 85% of the daytime actors are better than 75% the actors currently in primetime. However, I will admit that sometimes daytime hires ‘new’ young actors that clearly haven’t acted before. While it is annoying to watch those actors initially, I have watched many of them grow up and become pretty decent actors, if not wonderful. That is part of the charm of daytime though- it really also trains the younger actor…. But, just so I’ve answered your question, I’ve a lot of actors get mainstream work, and then return to daytime regardless. Clearly, they have the ability to get mainstream work, but they choose to return. And I don’t want to write a list or anything- but I certainly can pretty easily- of the many many actors who really are the best of the best. Again, when people talk about this genre, they don’t really consider the genre itself, but the negative stigma surrounding it seems to always be the foundation for what people say, so it isn’t true. I mean, let me clarify- I have SO MUCH to do, I’m in college studying the sciences, but I think so highly of these programs that I make time to watch them daily. And the same goes for other fans: contrary to popular beilef, we’re not all wives who are doing the laundry as we watch our soaps. Some of us are, and believe me, we could indeed find better things to do than watch soaps, if they were as ‘bad’ as society claims falsely. Many of us are working, and have busy lives- yet we make time for these soaps- and mind you, there are plenty of channels to choose from… Just from a logical standpoint, I don’t understand why anyone would think that throughout the ages, so many people would watch these soaps if they were so bad. And considering the changes in toady’s society in the workforce, many of us still watch them regardless…

    • Michelle

We haven’t given up on getting the soaps back on TV though. We’re calling, emailing, sending letters to Prospect Park, requesting that they also air the soaps on TV. It seems there is a chance they could go to cable.

      • paula greene

help! how do you watch a tv program online? Dont even know where to find something like that

    • Steve

Ok folks, buy you and Apple TV box or a Logitech Revue with Google TV. Hooks up to the TV, hooks up to the internet and shazam you have internet on your TV. Not to hard. You can buy these at any electronic store online or in you home town.

    • BARBARA

I AM SICK OVER LOOSING ALL MY CHILDREN, THEY WERE LIKE A FAMILY TO ME. AND TO REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER COOKING SHOW IS SO STUPID WE HAVE A WHOLE NETWORK OF COOKING I’LL NEVER WATCH IT. I HA VE WATCHED ALL MY CHILDREN FOR 40 YEARS PLEASE BRING IT BACK I WATCH ALL 3 ABC SOAPS

  • mick

Not a draw. I love CM but Ryan is annoying. Loved LH since Passions but Cara adds no relative value to the show when she is not attached to Tad. OLTL looks like it fare much better, but I will still watch.

    • J

Ditto re: Cam Mat and Ryan. But I’m very happy Lindsay Hartley is staying on. She’s magic. She’s great with everybody.

  • lukshin

I cried too. I see, it’s going to be that kind of week. I don’t think it will be the same online, but I’m sure going to give it a chance. I’m not ready to give my Children up yet. I just think it’s so disgusting that ABC is doing this.

  • cathy

been watching amc since the day it started and never missed on show cant wait to be able to still watch it

    • anita

I too cried big time today, i have watched since the first year, i will try to watch on line, it cant be the same, come on cable pick up AMC.

      • anna

I was sobbing today! It’s almost like a death in the family.

      • John

Many of us have taped and watched the show later, so there is a way I am sure to “tape” it from the computer to the TV – well I would rather get it this way then not get it at all, I’ve been watching since I was a kid and it’s heartbreaking to see it end – even if some of the roles have to be re-cast, it would still be nice to watch.

  • CW

I really like Lindsay and hopefully they will sign Vincent Irizarry. David and Cara were thrown together quickly but there is potential. She was great with Michael Knight as well but since they were determined to reunite Tad and Dixie it’s nice that they are taking a chance on her character.

    • Roberta

I think they finally found a good match for the great David Hayword, not too little to late I hope

      • Nestor

Another one of my random cmemonts .One of the main reasons I like the BBC series Merlin is because they cast a black actress as Guinevere. While enjoying the series on youtube, I also got to see people work through their own ideas about race in the cmemonts section. It was refreshing to see some honesty as some ppl flat out admitted that they disliked the character because she wasn’t white and didn’t look like a “queen” or they instead tried to back up their opinions based on the racial makeup of England during that time period. In general, I feel like in this day and age, a “period piece” doesn’t have to adhere to the limitations of the period it’s set in. To go a step further, unless race is central to the story (ex. someone’s the first black/hispanic something or other), it shouldn’t dictate casting. [note: I take no credit for this general casting idea as this was a topic of discussion on another blog i regularly read blacksnob.com] anyway, just wanted to say my piece too.

It will be a very sad day on Friday; saying goodbye. I think ABC will kick themselves once they figure out that they have lost a huge loyal following of fans/tv watchers. Daytime tv will never be the same. I look forward to seeing who else will join the cast online. I can’t give up AMC and the characters. They make me realize that my life isn’t so bad.

  • bpeels

Will you have to pay to watch online? And are going to bring. Back all actor on shows

    • @bpeels

I don’t think you have to pay, not sure. I’m not watching online! Won’t be the same, I’m old fashioned. I cried for an hour today!

      • Shan

We already watch online every day at hulu.com and we love it. We can watch at any time of the day or night and pause when we need to. Love it online. Nothing will change in this household. AMC all the way!

  • Jalen

I loved it was so beautiful

  • Jalen

    Xvbnsnydn

  • Roberta

I know I was crying today and it looks like it is going to be a tearful week. I too have watched this show since it started and even though I don’t think it will be the same on line I am going to have to give it a try. Its like loosing a family member.

  • nickp

This is the last week of All My Children before it airs online next year

  • Yorky

Bring back Passions & i’ll happily sign up!

    • AN

YEAH!!!!! :) Although, it got a little crazy (or crazier than usual) the last year or so.

  • Barb

I hope this is the first of many AMC cast members to join the online show. I have high hopes that once away from the dictatorial and distructive influence of Brian Frons, AMC will return to its roots, get back to family, romance and social issues and reclaim its past glory. Good luck Prospect Park!!

  • joline

Yay!!! So glad to see these two. It’s just a matter of time before more actors come on board. Thank you Cam and LH!

    • Colleen

I know this is one household that will not ever watch “the chew”.

      • AN

My husband stayed home sick yesterday and while I was watching AMC, a promp for The Chew came on and even he said, “That has to be the stupidest idea I have ever heard.”

  • Jessica

I won’t be following online unless Susan Lucci signs on.
