File under: “Culture crash.” EW has confirmed that evangelical minister Ted Haggard will participate in the inaugural season of Celebrity Wife Swap. The Colorado pastor, made famous when he was scandalized by a drug-fueled dalliance with a rent boy, is set to swap spouses with wide-eyed Oscar nominee (and born-again Christian) Gary Busey. Haggard remains with his wife Gayle and maintains his public condemnation of homosexuality despite the 2006 controversy. Busey currently has a 19-month-old son with girlfriend Steffanie Sampson.

Watched it one time when I had the flu, I was delirious with fever. Stupid show!!!

  • Quirky

Gary Busey is married? How crazy does his wife also have to be in order to stay with him?

    • amanda

not as stupid as the chick who is still married to Haggard!

      • lisa g.

        I agree w Amanda!

    • Voodoo

      It clearly says girlfriend.

  • Zeke

    What a garbage program…must be on VH-1

    • watergirl

No it is on ABC and it is cheap to make, like many reality TV shows.

  • Scott

and the mouth of hell will open in 3, 2, 1…..

    • Asha

Well it’ll just suck Cleveland in and the rest of us should be ok.

  • Chad

This sounds crazier than any plot the boys at Fringe could cook up

  • imahrtbrkbeat

My question is…will Ted Haggard be swapping with a man or a woman?

  • Teresa

I watched a special on Ted Haggard and that man and his family have MORE than paid their dues. If anyone here commenting has nothing in their closet to hide…raise your hand, AND pat yourself on the back…because you would be the first PERFECT person EVER….other wise I don’t think one should judge. As far as Gary Busey, what happened to him was not his fault. Maybe they were married before his horrible accident and she is just an amazing woman who stayed with him not a “crazy person” Lot’s of “glass half empty” folks commenting here. That won’t get ya far in life. Try a little compassion. Not my place to tell anyone what to do….just a suggestion. You all are responding just like THEY hoped you would. hmmmmm who’s workin who?

      Pipe down!

    • newman

Get a grip. These two clowns are going on a cheesy reality show. They know what they’re getting into.

    • WHY

How do you “pay your dues” following sex with a rented male sex companion on meth while condeming gays and screaming about the immorality of others? Does he now speak out for gay rights? Is he advocating for a revision to american drug policies?

    • Marianna

I may have a couple of personal use marijuana plants kicking around in the back of my closet and I may be one of those dreaded “glass half full’ kind of people but I’ll tell you this; it takes a special kind of stupid mixed with a ginormous ego, rampaging self entitlement and a boat load of arrogance to subject the people you’re suppossed to love above all else to the abuse that is the Wife Swap experiment.

  • Jesse

Ted Haggard on Wife Swap?!? Are you kidding me? Is it April Fools Day? This joke writes itself, LOL!

  • Jake Flange

So are they swapping secret boyfriends?
