'Supernatural' promo: Sam's losing his mind, Dean's (probably not) 'fine,' and the Leviathan takes to the water -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

I’ve already raved about how Friday’s episode of Supernatural was truly one of the scariest ever, and this exclusive promo takes aim at yet other portion of my fear-laden psyche.

In the video, which you can watch below, we learn that the Leviathan have started using the water supply as means of getting around, causing strange mutations to take place. (I get squirmy just thinking about drinking anything unfiltered.) We also get another glimpse at Sam’s post-hell struggle with hallucinations. The only benefit of his issues? The fact that we apparently get to see a lot of Mark Pellegrino this season!

Meanwhile, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Dean’s having trouble dealing with their seven seasons years of bad luck (I blame their mirror-breaking actions in season 1′s “Bloody Mary”) and there’s no indication quite yet what effect that will have on him. Let’s just hope he stays out of hallucinating Sam’s line of fire long enough to find out.

Take a look below!

STOP WITH THE ADVERTISING. I wanted to watch a video on Supernatural, and all I can see is an ad for Terra Nova, that I can’t close.

Yeah that damn ad pops up every single time I open a new story. It’s annoying and its the reason I’m NOT watching Terra Nova tonight, so share that with you’re advertisers, ok?

  • Wil

Wow. What a video. This season seems like it will be much better than season 6!

    • Johnny

Why do most people claim that Supernatural season 6 was pretty crappy? I thought it was good. It had some weak moments but that can be said for all the seasons of Supernatural. Overall it was a pretty good season for me. I’ve watched this show from the beginning & have not been disappointed by one season yet. To each his own I guess. As long as you continue to support the show good or bad cause it’s gonna need it after the ratings it got for the season premiere.

      • Jackie

Very well said, Johnny! I agree with you 100% :)

      • Kalie

I agree. I had no problem with Season 6. I hope we won’t have to worry about the show. 2 million on a Friday night is fine for The CW and it seems that almost all of the returning shows are down on every network. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed. Seven seasons is a great run, but I’d still love to see a Season 8.

      • cona

Because Season 6 was crappy. Maybe all those people aren’t wrong. 2 Million really isn’t fine and the fact that it’s “fine” for the CW hardly is a resounding notice for the CW. The fact is shows would have gotten cancelled for ratings like this even 2 seasons ago. It just shows how incredibly badly the CW is doing that Supernatural is even still on the air.

      • Wil

@Kalie: You’re right, it is an opinion-based decision. I enjoyed season 6 but only in increments. There was way too much sloppy writing going on, the plot was all over the place, and while there were some incredible moments, they were few and far between. This season is already off to a better start. I’ve also been watching since the pilot and its my personal favorite tv show. I think that season 6 was a step into unfamiliar territory for the writers/producers and this season they have a much stronger hold on what they want to achieve, as far as I can tell from 1 episode at least.

      • GLuisa88

@Cona – The CW is to blame for the show’s low ratings. It’s not SPN’s fault that it only has two million viewers. Sure, if it were on any other network it would be cancelled- but if it were on any other network it would have more than two million viewers.

      • Kate

@Cona That is your opinion. You’re probably one of those Destiel people from the fanfiction world we keep hearing about. Which is sad because that crap is what ruins shows. Fanservice made season 6 bad in some spots. The writers seem to have a very good idea of what is going to go down based on interviews I have read and the first episode. And yes, for the CW, a teen-based, not-huge network, a show on Friday night that draws 2 million people is doing pretty good. This show had never had more than 5 million. And consistently, since season 2, has drawn 2-3. It’s still around because it’s a huge market. The show itself is only a part of what this franchise, if you will, encompasses.

But yes, you may think season 6 was bad. You’re probably not alone. But in reality, and not in fanfiction land, it was decent. They basically used it to tie up everything that’s been happening since season 4 so it wasn’t going to be great to begin with. The angels/heaven/hell thing, in my opinion, is what makes this show insufferable at some points. Fans’ “adoration” of Misha Collins be damned.

      • Max Winchester

I loved season 6,you have to look at supernatural as an epic saga. And now season 7 is just crazy ,what an opening to the season.Everybody can say what they want but that episode was f***** up there on spn top 10 episodes for sure.Deaths scene alone was so good, and I love the way he tells the lore about the Leviathans.Only sum-one deaths age can give us that info. The entire episode was incredible ,never a dull moment .2 mil viewers is an insult. I don’t want this show to end but 2mil viewers.I hate that I live in a world where people watch fringe more than spn. Ive never said anything bad about the show but sometimes I wonder would the show have more success if it were on HBO or any other big network..

    JEWEL!!!!!

  • Shannanigans

I can’t wait!!! Awesome, awesome preview of what’s to come! Thanks for posting this.

  • jcb1628

Can’t wait!!! I love this show and did I correctly spot the actress that played Kaylee from Firefly1?!? Or were my eyes playing tricks?

    • Wil

      Nope, its actually her :)

  • St.Jon

Goodness! I know Misha said he had to be in water for one of the last scenes he shot. Makes me worry the Leviathan are just gonna’ jump into the water supply from him and then what happens to Cas??

  • Jackie

In ‘Bloody Mary’, I think Dean said to Sam at the end that they’d just earned about 300 years of bad luck, so it seems like they’ve made a good start!

  • Lex

*squee!* Kaylee! And are so right Sandra! The only good thing about Sam’s hallucinations is that Mark Pellegrino is back. (And you can never have too much of Mark Pellegrino on a show!) I can’t wait, this season looks so good! Allthough I am still worried about Cas :(

  • erin

I am so excited for this. The premiere was off the hook, and this looks even better.

  • Nichole

Loved it and can’t wait for Friday! Thanks for posting it!

I didn’t think that Fridays episode was that scary. I had a bigger problem with Bloody Mary!

    • Melissa

Bloody Mary really creeped me out too but I’ve always been a little weirded out with mirrors.

  • Joyce

LOL @Supernatural this show suck now. And no I didn’t read the article nor did i watch the clip sooo…..

    • Aren’t you clever!

LOL @Joyce you’re pathetic. I little tip: when you are trying to troll, at least try to look over what you wrote. It makes more of an impact when you don’t sound like you’re six.

    • Me

LoL you friqqin child, no one push you to read or watch, so why are you even here??? LoL

  • Edward

Poor poor Sam, first he’s cursed with demon blood, then he loses his soul, and now he may lose his marbles? Season 7 is looking awesome!

    • cona

Season 7 is looking recycled. What’s wrong with Sam, again? Not exactly feeling it, especially when it’s not recyling the theme(what’s wrong with Sam), it’s actually recycling Dean’s old storyline(effects of Hell) which they never did justice to with Dean but now will force us to sit through episode after episode with Sam. Poor freakin’ hoo Sammy suck it and stop whining, you’ve got it good.

      • Cappy712

Well maybe it could be that Dean was there 40 years and they dealt with it and Sam’s soul being stuck there for 1 1/2 years or 180 years they might want to go into that a little more.

      • A

Sam and his hallucinations, are drugs sammy are drugs ……

      • AB

Oh, god, Cona’s one of “those,” the fanatical Dean lover/Sam hater people. There’s no reasoning with them, they’re like rabid dogs. Nothing you say is going to make her see her obsession, she’s like a Dean stalker/extreme Sam hater. It’s totally scary weird.
        Best to just ignore her.

      • cindy

Hmmm, @cona…is that kinda like how they dealt with Dean’s grief at John’s death for almost half a season and Sam had one line where he was allowed to show that his father’s death was devasting to him also? I mean, even though he and John didn’t agree on much, he still loved his father. And, I believe, being in Hell and being tortured by a demon for forty years (less if you consider Dean was off the rack and torturing other souls for part of his time) would be just as bad as being in Hell for 150 years being tortured by Lucifer himself (and most likely Michael) and probably seeing his younger brother being tortured also, then I think you have no concept of what Hell is and who Lucifer is. Oh, and just so you don’t go all off on your high horse…I love both brothers.

  • Vicki

How do I close this ad and watch what I came to see? Really, it’s bugging me so hard that I don’t think I’ll ever watch Terra Nova in my life.

    • Winnie50

@ Vicki – One question for you. How can something bug you so hard? Just sayin’…..

      • @Winnie

I believe one may be buggered hard–maybe that’s what she meant?

    • Masja

I use Mozilla Firefox with the add-on Adblock Plus and then I get rid of ALL ad’s! I didn’t even notice there were any!
Grat clip! Can’t wait too see the show.. Is it friday today? no… let me check again… no still only tuesday.. AAAH!

  • Laurel

Bloody Fantastic ! Looks like ANOTHER great episode this Friday.
I thought it was a purified water commercial at first . lol

    • Jackie

Me too! Did you almost expect it to be followed by an ad for Herpexia?

  • Amy

Oh this is cool. I love this whole concept of the Leviathan traveling through the water supply. I thought the season opener was amazing and this just gets me more excited for season 7. It looks creepy and angsty and all that good Supernatural stuff!
