'Hangover' actress moves into 'Suburgatory' -- EXCLUSIVE

ABC continues to shore up the cast for Suburgatory, its new single-camera comedy that debuts tonight and stars Jeremy Sisto (Law & Order) as a single dad who moves with his 16-year-old daughter (newcomer Jane Levy) to the suburbs. The comedy also stars Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm) and Rex Lee (Entourage).

And look who is now joining the neighborhood? Gillian Vigman — best known for playing Bradley Cooper’s wife in Hangover — will play Jill Werner, a “beautiful but punishing … serious person who likes things, including her husband, exactly her way.” Her husband will be played by Geek fave Alan Tudyk (Dollhouse, Firefly). The couple have a teenage daughter about to attend an Ivy League school.

Also joining Vigman in the ‘burbs is the previously announced Ana Gasteyer. She plays the overbearing Sheila Shay, who is a neighbor of George (Sisto) and Tessa (Levy) and sticks her nose into other people’s ‘bidness.

I wouldnt really call her a costar…did she even have lines in the first movie?

    • Rich

“where is my husband and what did you do with him” I believe were her only lines.

    • No, she’s a STAR

EW said she was and this is Hyperbole Month and you’ll like it. And what’s up with the weird, awkward name of the show—it tries to hard to be clever.

    • bill

my bestfriend makes $77 an hóur on the cómputer. She has been out of job for 9 months but last month her check was $7,487 just working on the computer for a few hours. Read about it here CashHard.cóm

  • joe luck

I don’t think “star” means what you think it means.

  • Rebecca

The only ‘co-stars’ from either Hangover movies are Bradley, Ed, Zach, & Justin…. Also Ken. The rest are just…. Background essentially. Let’s be honest.

  • Kim

Isn’t she the wife in the Jack in a Box commercials?

    • Ian

She’s in a ton of commercials. I definitely wouldn’t have referred to her as ‘Hangover star’. She’s much better known for the commercials and a brief part in 40 Year-old Virgin.

  • SHELLY

Lol yeah I don’t think I would have been able to pick her out of a line up. I might be wrong ,but isn’t the lady that played Daphne on Frazier also named Jane Levy?

    • Kris

      That’s Jane Leeves.

    • Valley Girl

Jane Levy played Mandy on “Shameless” on Showtime.

  • SHELLY

Never mind her name is Jane Leeves.

  • Stacie

I remember her as Pan/Pamd from Step Bros. more.

    • J

      This.

    • Jess

      samesies

  • Jayjay

Sons & Daughters alum! (Does anybody remember that show?)

    • Robyn

Thank you! I was waiting for someone to mention that show. I like to think of it as a precursor to Modern Family that no one noticed. I was just watching clips of that show the other day on youtube. She was actually pretty good in S&D..

  • tomm

Next we will hear, the kid who played Brad Cooper’s son [only seen sleeping] will be on some kid’s show!

  • Lisa

I can’t help but notice that ABC is not interested in diversity at all in it’s new fall line-up.This show is so white I thought it was on CBS.It is now more important to have gays than Blacks on T.V? Really?

    • Summer

To be fair, an African-American presence on network television has been low since UPN and the WB merged to form the CW, and then slowly and quietly phased out shows with African-American leads. Let’s not blame ABC and the gays for this.

    • whatevs

Why stop at blacks? There are other races in America too, you know.

    • MissMel

That’s sort of the point of the show. Of all the shows on TV right now this is the one show where it actually makes sense that there’s no diversity.

  • Lisa

I am NOT blaming the gays. They have a right to be represented too.But it is ridicoulous how little network shows seem to care about making their shows look like the real world. Do they really think that America is ready for a black president but not a black lead on a drama? Come on.

    • AV

Abc has scandal for midseaon and kerry washington is the lead.

    • Voodoo

Well, what about an Asian lead? (Nikita is on CW, so doesn’t count) They have rights too.

    • dave

Man, you know, they’ve tried. They gave Taye Diggs his own show a couple of times, those tanked. Undercovers last year featured two insanely hot black people, and that didn’t make it. They’ve given MingNa her own show like three times, and those didn’t work. Blame the American public! I liked the Undercovers, even if they really didn’t have that great chemistry. Who was even watching the dialogue on that show?

  • Mike Mott

That woman is in a MILLION commercials!! Jack in the Box, Rooms to go, and many others. I definitely remember her from Sons and Daughters, a show before its time. It was a total Modern Family clone!!

  • Holly

What are you talking about are PLEANTY of african americans on television on any network. That show “off the map”, “grey’s anatomy”, “private practice”, “castle”, “house”, the list goes on on so why don’t you think before you leap Lisa before you might offend someone, all do respect.

  • Liz

The only actress from Hangover I could even think of was Heather Graham.

  • Lisa

I do think Holly that is why unlike you I know how to spell “plenty”.But to get to your opinion, all of the shows that you mentioned have been on the air for atleast 5 years so their not new programs. With the exception of” Off The Map” which is off the air. And by the way, none of those characters are even leads there supporting roles. So thank you for helping to prove my point.

    • kate middleton

There’s also Damon Wayans Jr. in Happy Endings, who is as much of a lead as any of those main characters. I agree with you that TV could use more diversity in all areas though – and not just in the supporting cast.

    • MissMel

Fail. . .You may know how to spell “plenty” but your usage of their, there and they’re could use some work Little Miss Snarkypants.

    • ShutItLisa

Really? Dollars to donuts you are white Lisa. There are plenty of minorities all over tv. (and yes, I am black) Not only on network tv but cable. Shows like Law and Order: SVU, CSI, Happy Endings, New Girl, Glee etc all showcase minorites. “We” dont need your help. Stop trying to create a false cause.
