Expected, yet still welcome news: CBS’ 2 Broke Girls is getting some job security, landing a full-season order.

The Monday night comedy has been flying high as part of the network’s comedy block. The most recent episode averaged 11.5 million viewers and a 4.5 adult demo rating, matching its How I Met Your Mother lead-in. New comedies this fall so far are definitely getting the network love over dramas, with Fox picking up New Girl and NBC ordering more Whitney and Up All Night. No freshman drama, however, has yet to receive a full season.

    YAY!

    • saline

I am gay, get over it!

  • Renaton

    Shortest article ever!

  • Ronny

Yes! Love the girls. But please ditch the horse and the sexist cook. And bring back Max´s sexy ex.

    • Tarc

The leads have a lot of talent – that’s wasted on this awful, offensive show.

    • Melissa in CA

I like the horse, but totally agree about the pervy cook.

  • Dumbledore Fluffernutter

Watched it again this week. Still stiiiiinks. This new TV season is abysmal. That’s right- abysmal.

    • Shannon

      Agreed.

    • Ash

The 1st episode was garbage. But it improved from the there. The latest episode actually had me laughing very hard. Glad they’re staying.

  • steph

Yessss, this is the ONE new comedy I have enjoyed!

  • Jane

It is unfunny, poorly written and low brow, but I guess that is why it fits so well with the CBS line up.

    • Mike

Not original? What have you seen that is similar in terms of overall plot?

      • An Average Sized Mustache

A little show called THE ODD COUPLE!!!!!!!

      • Tim

Forget not original, it’s just not funny. Yay it’s getting good ratings, sandwiched between two hits. But it’s still terrible.

      • Kalizata

Karen,I am weeping tears of joy and love as I write this reospnse to the video of Tiff and Lee’s Wedding. It is beautiful and you are an amazing photographer! Thank you so much for being a part of that fun and very sacred day.Sincerely,Alison

I still think this show is REALLY bad.

  • Voodoo

To all these people always complaining that this show or that show is bad, what do YOU think is a good tv show? Just wondering, though I doubt I like your shows.

    • An Average Sized Mustache

      Friday Night Lights!

      • Steve

        Canceled.

      • Stephanie

It ended its run and won Emmys. Not cancelled.
Here are a list of good shows: Fringe, Community, Parks & Rec, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Justified, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Supernatural, Falling Skies, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Weeds, Raising Hope, Sons of Anarchy, Dr. Who, Psych, Burn Notice.

    • Dave

Parks and Recreation, Community, Justified, Fringe, Breaking Bad…just a few of my favorites.

    • kate middleton

I think Parks and Rec is hands down the funniest show on tv. Modern Family, Happy Endings and Cougar Town are close behind in my book. Also still love HIMYM.

To me, 2 Broke Girls seems old-fashioned (laugh track, multi-cam) but trying extra hard to be edgy. Doesn’t work for me. But part of the reason I dislike it is that it was pumped up so much by tv critics as one of the best new shows. Very underwhelming after that.

    • Tim

How I Met Your Mother, Castle, The Good Wife, Modern Family, CougarTown, Community. These are good shows. 2 Broke Girls is just NOT FUNNY. And even Kat’s amazing breasts can’t make it funny.

  • Jane

I’ll answer that Voodoo. Madmen, Modern Family,30 Rock, Dexter, Parks and Rec, History Channel original programs, , and alot of 90′s shows in syndication like Frasier and Raymond.

    • Matt

I love this show and thinks its smart and very funny. as per your choices; Voodoo (is that on tv) Madmen (possibly the most boring and slowest moving show in history), Modern Family (very funny),30 Rock (same show week in and week out) Dexter, Parks and Rec (this show is terrible), History Channel original programs, and alot of 90′s shows in syndication like Frasier and Raymond. (90′s shows have been over for 12 years, get over them and move on.)

      • Voodoo

Voodoo is not a show Matt, Jane was talking to me. Thanks for answering BTW Jane. Actually watch half the stuff you watch (especially the reruns), but dislike P&R and 30 Rock. I just don’t go on the recap site or whatever to complain how I don’t like them. I don’t watch it. If you like it, well good for you. BTW, I don’t actually think this show is great though I believe it has potential.

      • Jane

Just because you’re not smart enough to understand a show does not mean it is boring.Madmen is an amazing character drama that does not need drugs, guns or alot of sex scenes to be enetertaining.Sorry it is over your head.No wonder you think 2 Broke girls is great.

  • joe luck

I guess it’s Whitney Cummings year. Good for her, bad for the rest of us.

  • James Griffin

Kat Dennings is voluptuous, gorgeous, sexy and beautiful. She’s amazing. That woman is incredible. Good for her to get a full season order. She deserves it. She’s a very talented actress. It’s an exceptional performance by her, just wonderful.

  • João Paulo

Yes this show is not great, but is fine.

  • Laura

No wonder US networks cancel so many scripted shows with potential too early; sometimes people are too quick to judge and condemn. I vote to give them time to find their groove and then decide. Some of my favorite shows only hit their stride in Season 2.

  • Steven Solomon

I love to see any actor who never had any luck with movies or TV get on a successful TV series.

  • Alice

    well, it’s CBS after all
