Rosie O’Donnell may have moved her new OWN show out to Chicago, but the big Broadway supporter in her hasn’t forgotten her NYC stage roots. She’s flying the entire cast of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert out to the windy city to perform a medley of “It’s Raining Men” and “I Will Survive” on The Rosie Show on Thursday, Oct. 13, during the show’s premiere week.
According to the show’s reps, Priscilla will be the first musical to appear on Rosie, a hint that there will likely be more in the future. If you remember, O’Donnell would routinely highlight stage productions on The Rosie O’Donnell Show, which ran from 1996 to 2002. I alone recall seeing bits from Cats, Aida, Chicago, Mamma Mia!, Kiss Me Kate, The Full Monty, Saturday Night Fever, Putting it Together and Thoroughly Modern Millie on Rosie’s old talk show back in the day. And what other popular talk show host would have had Billy Crudup on her couch to promote The Elephant Man? GO. ROSIE. The new series premieres on Oct. 10 on OWN and airs weekdays at 7 p.m.

Nobody’s gonna watch that that B!tch’s show!!!
Actually you’re wrong: I’m watching too! Can’t wait for Rosie’s new show!
Me too! The original Rosie O’Donnell Show was awesome, so I’m very excited for the new series.
Who cares! No one will see it. Sucky network. Oprah n Rose…sit down!
I’m watching…..the only reason I have DIRECTV is so I can watch her new show.
This is great and the cast will be great as usual, can’t wait to see it!
The show will be great but I wish it was more widely available. I don’t get OWN.
Don’t watch the show if you don’t like her, and watch it if you do. Problem solved. I just hope she and O get along, because I don’t want to see their faces on every magazine and rag at the checkout.
I wonder if Bette Midler will be in attendance since she produces Priscilla
I’m very excited to see Rosie back on TV in this format! If you don’t like the show, don’t watch and don’t waste your time posting negative comments. I mean, why? Anyway, I look forward to the premeire next week!
I love Rosie – can’t wait to have her back on TV where she belongs!
I have seen “Priscilla Queen of The Desert” on Broadway 11 times.I can’t wait to see the cast on Rosie. It’s the best musical on Broadway. Rosie, your lucky to have them. Nick, Tony, and Will are extra FAB.
I think calling it the best show on B’way is a stretch. It wasn’t even nominated for the Tony for best musical this year. Book of Mormon swept the awards.
Cal, Did you even see “PRISCILLA” or any of the other shows on BROADWAY? I suggest that you go and see “PRISCILLA” and judge for yourself. I am entitled to my opinion, as are you.
)))
Counting down to Rosie!
I think Rosie brought the joy of Broadway to a whole lot of people who wouldn’t have access to it previously.
Wow! I can’t believe some of the vitriol on this board. I’ve been in Rosie’s audience twice now; yesterday was the Pricilla show, and while Broadway is not my thing, the show was excellent and I wish I could get OWN to see subsequent shows.
It’sa lesbian thing….so sayeth thy lord, Oprah.
The cast of Pricilla was fabulous!! fantastic, Rosie thanks! A must see. So far her show is great!
I am really happy for rosie. her guests or great’, & the way she interacts with the audience. I by pass Oprah to see rosie. Oprah, His been there done that! give rosie a chance
