Strike Back, Cinemax’s action series about an elite military unit on the hunt for an elusive Middle Eastern terroist, has been renewed for a second season. The show, which stars Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom) and Philip Winchester (Camelot), received an order of 10 new episodes that will air in mid to late 2012. Strike Back currently airs Fridays at 10:00 p.m., and concludes its first season Oct. 21.

    AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!

  • Jay

Decent show, with 2 major flaws:

    1) Unnecessary nudity and sex each week. Not against these things unless they add nothing to the story, which is the case here.
    2) For British Intelligence agents, they sure do a lot of really stupid things!

One of them is supposed to be American, right? I only caught the first episode, but it wasn’t bad at all. Parts of it played like a Jason Statham action movie, but then other parts felt like a real geopolitical thrillers. Oh yeah, and since it was Cinemax, you knew there’d be boobs.

The first series was the best as Richard Armitage was the star but he’s now filming The Hobbit so he’s not in this series. Second series is rubbish.

yes when will the british series come to american television or dvd?! nobody is as awesome as richard armitage in this role!

  • Given2Indifference

Yes! I’m enjoying this series so much. I wish they’d air the original first series here. Also, gotta agree, some of the sex scenes are gratuitous. However, I wouldn’t mind so much if Philip Winchester did a few of those scenes :-P

Howdy, i read your blog occasionally and i own a smiilar one and i was just wondering if you get a lot of spam comments? If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can advise? I get so much lately it’s driving me mad so any assistance is very much appreciated.

Great news! Great show – like how it tied in to the original series in the first few episodes.

  • Tony

Yes! More of yummy Philip Winchester. First series had that ugly frog Richard Armitage. Thank god this show is hotter!

This is great news. The best bromance on Friday nights since Supernatural arrived there is in this show. Great that Philip Winchester had this going as well as that mess of a show he was in on Starz. This show got virtually no press but was one of the best looking, best acted high adrenaline adventure/espionage shows currently airing. The South African filming locations are fantastic. Somewhat fills the void left by the cancellation of “Human Target”. Sullivan Stapleton’s “Damien Scott” is the most alpha male character on television. Great show made even better by its awesome theme song “Short Change Hero” by The Heavy.

YAY!!!! fun show, hot guys !

  • Kiwi28

Yay! Love this show! Great action flick but on the small screen!

Chris I would agree that Niki’s split personality is pobbarly not a manifestaiton of her power. But I think her power while still being genetic is a manifestation of her split personality. That’s jsut waht I think .Mark You don’t think Niki could also display the pwoers Jesica has if she needed to?

  • Bast

Awesome show, am a huge fan. Am so glad to hear they’ve been picked up for another season! w00t!

  • jdtrix

Love this show! Smart, lots of cliff hangers and edge of your seat action, and Philip Winchester is amazing! So glad there will be more episodes.

    • Waldon

ew no thanks do not what to look that up lol hmm yeah beacsue her supporters are all saying she should leave him.. and i sorta felt like at the end of the game she wasn’t as ecstatic over him now that she was able to win without him, wonder if she’s re-thinking things as she didn’t return the i love you

  • Kat

Absolutely LOVE this show. However I agree with Jay…to much sex and nudity. Scott needs to keep it in his pants more often. I tune in for the action, and not the kind in the bedroom. I do have to say they are two of the most gogeous men on the telly! Too bad we have to wait 12 months for season 2.

Sad to see that Amada Mealing bought it in the final
episode. She really made the show as Colonel (should be Lieutenant Colonel) Grant. She came across as a professional, committed officer and a female at the same time. Had a bit of a ruthless streak too.
