After dropping in the ratings last week, cult-favorite Fringe recovered somewhat on Friday night.
Fringe had 3.2 million viewers and a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating, up 8 percent from its second episode last week (which had fallen 20 percent from its premiere). That’s not much, of course, but any reversal is always a welcome sight. What’s more: Fringe grew despite lead-in Kitchen Nightmares (3.7 million, 1.5) falling 12 percent.
The news for The CW’s Nikita, however, wasn’t so hot.
Nikita (1.6 million, 0.5) slipped from its already anemic rating, falling 17 percent (I mean, it only dropped a tenth of a rating point, but when you’re dealing with single digits, a tenth of a point can make for a significant percentage drop). Yet Supernatural (1.6 million, 0.7) grew at 9 p.m.
The night’s leader, CBS, had some slight shifts: A Gifted Man (7.5 million, 1.2) halted its decline and was steady. CSI: NY (9.7 million, 1.6) was down a notch, and Blue Bloods (11 million, 1.9) was up a peg.

I thought last night’s episode of Fringe was the worst of the season so far, so this is good news.
Excuse me??
It was easily the best!
What the fcuk were you watching?
I agree, cat. —- For all of us watching from the beginning of the series, last night’s episode was no babababoom!!! —- Not the best this season, but great non-the-less. I would watch “Fringe” even if they showed Walter sleeping-n-snoring through the whole episode.
id say, we all want Joshua Jackson back, so they should stop with the melodrama and get him back. or they get canceled in 2 months
HAHA I am so with you on that Jiji! I love Walter Bishop! He’s one of my favorite tv show characters next to Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory and the gay couple in Modern. We need to get more viewers, I want this show to run as long as possible, plus I feel smarter every time I watch it
Some particular episodes just don’t pull you in so maybe that episode got more viewers than last week’s.
Your a chachi Cat
Love Blue Bloods!
Fringe is a Phenomenal show! and last night episode was awesome!. This ratings are from a weird old system or something, I cannot believe them!.
Fringe should get at least another season just to watch more spectacular performances from their cast. John Noble was terrific last night, and Anna Torv was flawless in last week episode. Joshua Jackson is coming back next week, and I think will have his chance to bright as well.
Where’s the fringe recap??
Hopefully the recap is better than the last one…
Great episode but I am sooo ready for Peter’s return. Where’s the recap???
How is this fantastic show overlooked but the procedural “clone”shows on CBS get all of those viewers? What is going on? You Americans have horrible taste, just horrible.
Preach it! Anything daring, original or different dies (Pushing Daisies, Firefly, etc.), yet recycled procedural junk like what we see on CBS live forever. Barf.
Because most of the American public does not want to use their brains. They want to sit back and have inoffensive pablum poured down their throats.
fringe is one of the most interesting shows out there! Yes some people in this country like crappy stuff like ‘raiseing hope’ it takes allot for a show to be pitched!! I thought the episode on the 14th was awesome!! I was sweeking like a little girl! The show has something that other shows r missing! It as the balls to be different! And its not afraid of some stupid rating system! And other countries have just as bad tv shows!! So stop hating on america!! If you dont like stop watching our programs!!! enough said!!! fringe rocks!!!! Love it!!
Because they ranked 17th in math and science that’s why. They need to get their LL Cool J and Gary Sinise groove on.
You don’t need to be good at math and science to enjoy a good, intelligent TV show.
Well, it boggles me as well…CSI is everywhere, perhaps someday we’ll watch something like CSI:Kabul or CSI:Pyongyang
You’re all pathetic
It’s like your 103 year-old grandmother went into cardiac arrest, had like 30-minutes of CPR, and now she’s intubated in the ICU, getting all her nutrition through a feeding tube, there’s no brain activity on the EEG, she’s on like 3 different pressors, and you’re all standing at the bedside yelling, “GRANDMA! GRANDMA!” in her ear, telling the doctors, “I think she just squeezed my hand!!”
You’re so lame lol why are you even here?
What the h…?
The show is on FRIDAY nights you weird unfunny dumba.ss.
I watch Supernatural and DVR Fringe, double goodness. There’s a CSI on Friday? How many of those things are there? Jeez!
It’s “CSI NY”, they moved it to Fridays just about the same time that they moved “Fringe” to Fridays.
It was my favorite crime show then, when it was showing in the week. I got a crush on Gary Senise, but I ain’t watching his cuteass when it’s showing at the same time as my fav show, “Fringe.”
Sory, Gary!
Where’s the bleeding recap!
I’m right with you. I don’t care if it’s Columbus Day weekend. I want my freaking recap!
I’m enjoying the new season. It feels like a brand new show in some respects. Anna Torv is doing a fantastic job in the two Olivia roles. I do miss Peter, but love the addition of Linc and Charlie. I’m in it for the long haul.
Is Charlie coming back?
Wow the CW is not doing good on Friday’s. I mean both shows are basically getting the same rating(so is that good???) but they’re so low. But I guess not THAT low in CW terms.
Honestly what’s worse is that Nikkita and Supernatural are probably two of their best shows(if not THEIR best) Sure Supernatural this week wasn’t quality in the least but it’s normal awesome. I wish they’d move it to a better night. Maybe move 90210 and Gossip Girl to Friday’s…
CW is not doing good period. In my city, the channel is only on cable, 1 particular cable company. If there other places that are like that, they are only shooting themselves in the foot.
Those are definitely the CW’s best shows right now and they seem pretty similar in ratings. Supernatural has a built in fanbase and has been on 6 seasons so I would assume it would do better than Nikita which is only in its second season. Hoping Nikita will go up-its tough being on a Friday with no lead-in. Its a great show and Season 1 had a completely unexpected twisty finale. I would not watch the CW if it weren’t for Nikita and Maggie Q.
Love Fringe, love Blue Bloods thank god the improved, don’t care about the CW or their shows.
Those old folks sure love their CBS dang.
That’s good news. This week’s Fringe wasn’t as good as last week’s, but considering I absolutely loved last week’s episode, that’s not at all a bad thing. The end was great. I can’t wait until next week! And I hope those ratings stay steady, if not improve. This cannot be the last season of Fringe.
