Cheryl Tiegs and race car driver Marco Andretti to appear on next season of 'Celebrity Apprentice' -- EXCLUSIVE

The fifth season of NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice (also known as The Best Show of All-Time) will begin filming next week, and an insider close to the production has revealed the identity of two of the contestants vying for Donald Trump’s affection. Three-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl Cheryl Tiegs will be part of the cast, as will race car driver Marco Andretti.

The 64-year-old Tiegs’ reality show experience dates back to 1978 when she competed alongside Gabe Kaplan, Parker Stevenson, and Toni Tennille on the ABC team for Battle of the Network Stars. She also appeared as a judge on the first season of ABC’s True Beauty in 2009. The 24-year-old Andretti is the grandson of racing legend Mario Andretti, and the son of former IndyCar World Series champ Michael Andretti. He may have a leg up on the competition in the marketing/branding department, having already displayed an impressive ability to wedge an obscene amount of corporate logos on his racing outfit.

The two stars will follow in the footsteps of such luminaries as Gary Busey, Rod Blagojevich, and that woman who used to open briefcases on Deal or No Deal, as Trump and Co. promise to once again raise ridiculous amounts of money for charity while offering up non-stop hilarity along the way. Season 5 of The Celebrity Apprentice (and the 12th installment in the Apprentice franchise) will premiere in early 2012.

It is nice club for rich men or pretty girls mate.
You do not need to be wealthy or famous, but you can meet your true love, it’s worthy a try.

That is NOT Mario Andretti ……

      • @Dalton

You are slipping. Not Mario Andretti. Fix the picture.

      • Longshanks

Morons, it’s Marco Andretti, Mario’s son. It doesn’t say anywhere in the article that Mario Andretti is on the show. Try working your reading comprehension.

      • dartwoman63

Actually it is Mario’s grandson, his fathers name is Michael Andretti.

      • racingstripes

And, Marco Andretti is currently running strong in the INDYCAR Series…he is presently in the top 10 in points …

Wow two strikes. Neither of them are a draw for me!

I’ve often found that the more obscure the “celebrity” the crazier and more entertaining they are. They always have some kind of crazy sense of entitlement that makes for excellent television.

    • Necro

      Count me out, as always.

  • REALLY

Now if we could just fire Trump from the show it would be awesome.

  • I’m just sayin’

Regular people suck on the Apprentice – bring on the “celebs”!

If there is one show that really needs to be put to death..it’s this one. And if there is one person that really needs a punch in the nuts..it’s Donald Trump.

  • tim

both boring choices but i guess there has to be a few normal people amongst the nuts

Reality shows seem to be the rage these days, but why don’t the network executives and writers think outside the box? Give us something new and different.

I have an idea for a reality show based on the old 50′s television show ” I led three lives.” It would star Larry the Cable Guy. The title would be “I let three farts.”

Give us something new and different.my best friend’s mom makes $77 an hour on the computer. She has been out of job for 9 months but last month her check was $7487 just working on the computer for a few hours. Read about it here, LazyCash5.com

It’s a good bet to include Adam Carolla on the cast list. Said on his podcast he will be in NY for about a month.

LOVE the Donald!! Thanks to him the birth certificate story is out of the news! And hey! He gives people without much to do a spot on a reality TV show. Marco is cute!

  • Buffy Freak

He’s got to invite Hank Williams Jr right? And didn’t he say Amanda Knox was destined (or deserved?) to be a star?

I love how you can skip the byline, read the first sentence and know that Dalton wrote it. I wish you wrote for more shows Mr. Ross. Can you move over to the Amazing Race?
