Fans of FX’s Justified have been wondering since May’s second season finale how producers would match Margo Martindale’s Emmy-winning performance as Mags Bennett. Well, now we know: Desperate Housewives‘ Neal McDonough and 24‘s Mykelti Williamson, who both starred on Justified EP Graham Yost’s brilliant-but-canceled NBC drama Boomtown, have been cast as the awesomely named big bads of season 3. McDonough will recur as Quarles, a Detroit mobster in a sharp suit who comes to Kentucky with visions of becoming a crimelord. Williamson will play Limehouse, a man who lives in a small black town in Harlan County and who will do whatever it takes, legal or otherwise, to protect his holler.
We’ll meet both characters early in season 3, which premieres in January. The show — which also earned Emmy nominations for stars Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins and guest actor Jeremy Davies, who’ll return — began production on the first of 13 new episodes Monday.

Yes. With Breaking Bad done and so many new shows being so crummy, TV needs Justified back sooner rather than later.
so a whole much of N Bombs flying around this season, The show is great esp. the 2nd season however it sucks.
#this sucks
I LOVED Boomtown and was really disappointed they never released the abbreviated second season on DVD. I think it would do really well today if CBS added it to their lineup.
Agreed! I own season 1 and it kills me I can’t even have those 6 episode from season 2!
I absolutely loved Neal McDonough’s performance in Boomtown. Dude was robbed of Emmy for his brilliant work on that show.
justified really grew. The first season was uneven, the second was brilliant. It still has a few weak episodes here and there that put it just beneath the Deadwood, BB, Mad Men, etc. stratosphere. But it’s certainly above everything else. Could perhaps get to the Shield level.
Justified, Damages, Mad Men, CSI with Ted Danson are so good! Deadwood was my favorite and I’ll never forgive David Milch for moving on to that ridiculous John from Cincinatti.
Cannot wait. They’ve gotta work hard to top Season 2 and the amazing Margo Martindale. But I can’t wait to see them try!
Love this show… F/X programming is just so top-notch.
Jeremy Davies was brilliant, really amazing as a bad guy! I loved it. Goggins of course, is truly deserving of awards. His performance is always flawless. One of the most interesting characters on tv thank to Goggins performance! I love Justified.
Awesome! Can’t wait for season 3. Justified is one of my favorite shows. Timothy Olyphant is the man. I hope he wins an Emmy for this show one day.
p.s. Walton Goggins and Jeremy Davies should have won the Emmys they were nominated for this year.
Justified have won best drama. Actors and plots were great! How did mad men deserve the Emmy!?
Justified wasn’t even nominated for best drama – which is a travesty.
This is excellent news! Now is only Mags could come back from the dead …
Love it. Can’t wait.
Awesome, awesome, awesome! I loved how it’s a little Boomtown reunion with them. This is gonna be so great!
