The CW just gave full-season orders to The Secret Circle and Hart of Dixie, meaning all three of the network’s new dramas will get 22 episodes (the network picked up Ringer a couple hours ago).
None of the shows have given The CW a new breakout hit. Of the two just picked up, Circle has fared better: With top-rated Vampire Diaries as a lead-in, Britt Robertson’s Circle has averaged 2.7 million viewers and a 1.2 rating, while Rachel Bilson’s Hart has averaged 1.8 million viewers and a 0.8. Here’s CW president Mark Pedowitz with his thoughts:
“We believe in the creative strength of these dramas, and by giving them back nine orders we can give our audience the chance to enjoy complete seasons of all three of them. With compelling storylines, engaging characters and tremendous buzz, we firmly believe that Hart of Dixie, Ringer and The Secret Circle can become signature series for The CW, the kind of top-notch shows that are synonymous with our brand.”
The CW tends to develop a handful of dramas each year, pick a few to put on the air and then — unless the ratings utterly tank — stick with them for at least one season (the network is more aggressive about cutting reality shows, it cancelled H8R last week).

I love Secret Circle and Hart Of Dixie, glad they were picked up! Tried to watched Ringer but it could not hold my interest.
Not a fan of any of these shows, seem rather cookie-cutter. However, I applaud the CW for sticking with shows that are not breakout hits and giving it time to develop an audience.
My best friend has just announced her wedding with a great man who is a cele+brity!
They met-via { millionaireluv^С^σ^м }
It is nice club for rich men or pretty girls mate.
You do not need to be wealthy or famous, but you can meet your true love, it’s worthy a try.
Ringer is awesome! I dont really buy Rachel Bilson as a surgeon but am enjoying the show as just entertainment and so far its a cute and good show. Havent seen SC yet as looks like a younger persons show and I am in my late 20′s.
You like the two pablum shows but don’t understand the complex one. Mmhmm. The dumbing down of America, folks, right here on display!
GARBAGE!
Hart of Dixie and TSC are horrible shows. Thnk god Ringer was picked up. Shows the CW has some semblance of taste.
funny you should say the ringer is cw networks original idea. it was made for cbs but they dropped it
I am extremely excited Hart of Dixie got picked up for a full season. It has become one of my favorite shows.
This garbage network doesn’t even care anymore which is actually good news for “Nikita” which keeps getting better and better yet seems to be attracting fewer and fewer viewers in its ridiculous location on the CW schedule. They need to dump “Top Model” in that spot – its current location would be a much better spot for “Nikita”.
So true. They should save Friday for reality tv.
I agree. I don’t watch Nikita anymore, but they really should put the reality stuff on Friday.
And Ringer needs something better to be paired with than terrible 90210.
Ringer and Nikita would have been a VERY good pairing.
ITA. They could work together because both of them are more adult shows.
A rerun of Ringer did better on Friday in Nikita’s slot than Nikita first-run episodes are doing. So… I’d say that means most viewers think Nikita stinks and they simply don’t want to watch it.
@ bhm1304 – my husband and I stopped watching Nikita about 6 episodes into the first season as we just didn’t care about the characters. It may be better getting better, but once I drop something I usually don’t return.
I’m glad that all three CW shows got picked up for a full season.
Love Secret Circle, I am so glad we get a whole season.
IKR last episode was so good!!
Agreed
I’m just being realistic here but Hart of Dixie and SECRET CIRCLE deserve their pick-up more than RINGER.
I’m a huge SMG fan but this show is a complete letdown story-wise and the ratings reflect it. New Girl and Raising Hope weren’t on last night(the only reason RINGER went up to a 0.8 and 1.7 million viewers)
Meh I prefer Ringer!
Thank you cuz I watch all 3 including TVD and Supernatural!
@tigger851 – you and me both. 5 CW shows.
More importantly I hope Supernatural gets renewed and I’m glad they cancelled H8R.
I don’t know why but Hart of Dixie has completely charmed me–I love it. I think it’s a case of great casting making rather average material sparkle. Anyway, I am pleased to hear we’re getting a whole season!
Agreed. I didn’t expect to like it at all but it completely hooked me in. It’s not the best written show but the cast is fantastic and the characters are very compelling.
I agree i love both series. Just great shows.
I think the Ringer pick up was a smart move. Nikita needs to move to a better time slot.
America loves crap.
I actually enjoy Heart of Dixie, so far this season more shows are being picked up than canceled… It’s surprising.
That happens every year.
I gave up on Ringer after three episodes. I’m about to give up on Secret Circle if it doesn’t improve – it’s not half the show Vampire Diaries is. And I’ll give American Horror Story two more eps to get on track or I’m bailing on that too. So far the only new show this season that has absolutely kept me as a viewer is Terra Nova. And who knows if that will even get a second season!
I completely disagree. Terra nova is disappointing whereas all the other shows are growing on me and getting better each week!
Terrible show.
