'Pretty Little Liars' star Sasha Pieterse: Halloween episode will feature 'big revelation'

With Pretty Little Liars on midseason hiatus until its second half premieres in January, fans are looking for something — anything — to whet their appetites. According to Sasha Pieterse, who plays Alison on the ABC Family show, tonight’s Halloween prequel episode will not disappoint. “You’re going to be blown away,” Pieterse promised in an interview with EW. So what else did she spill about the Liars?

The episode, which takes place a year before Alison went missing from Rosewood, is called “The First Secret,” said Pieterse. “There are a lot of first secrets in this episode,” she teased. “It’s a time warp — all the way back to the beginning of the girls’ friendship and the beginning of her first encounters with her enemies.” Pieterse revealed that the standalone ep will lay the groundwork for “a big revelation… that the girls will soon find out.” Unlike other episodes, which have only shown Alison from the Liars‘ point-of-view, this episode is entirely from the queen bee’s perspective. “You’re definitely going to be seeing a different side of Alison,” she added. “There’s a lot that’s untold about her… [including] what she did when no one was looking.”

As for the show’s constant barrage of cliffhangers, Pieterse assured, “You’ll get some answers.” She noted, “It’s kind of crazy because Alison knew everyone’s secrets, but no one knew hers.” With the prequel, “you get to see some of her secrets, and it ties everything together.” Of course, that’s not to say that these answers don’t also come with more questions: “There are more suspects that arise as well that you wouldn’t be so sure of if you didn’t see the Halloween episode.”

In January, the effects from the episode, will be felt, she added. “The viewers know all these things that have happened, but the girls don’t, and it’s interesting to see how it all ties together,” Pieterse teased. The repercussions will keep the story moving through the spring because “There’s a lot that the girls don’t know.” And it seems they’re not alone. “The [producers] keep us guessing as well,” Pieterse laughed. “I’ve definitely gained some more theories in the last few episodes, so you guys have a lot to look forward to!”

I am amazed ABC Family has hardly promoted that the show’s Halloween episode is tonight. You would think they would have wanted to get the word out.

EW loves every show that is aimed at 12 year old shut-ins.

HUH?????? 21 year old guy here genius and the shows better than 99.9% of the BS on tv today. Since Lost, Smallville and other great shows have ended and been replaced by terrible dull trash like walking dead and boardwalk empire I THANK GOD to have amazing series like PLL.

        get a clue ; )

my roomate’s step-aunt makes $86 every hour on the internet. She has been unemployed for 9 months but last month her income was $7558 just working on the internet for a few hours. Read this site CashHard.cÔm

Your roomate’s -step mom is a SPAMMER too?
Of the other posts you say your roomates aunt makes $86 an hour. Funny, you have lots of friends in the SPAM business. Which is it? They both earn $86 an hour?

Why should we trust your employer when it looks like you’re lying to us.

Get an honest job…like picking up roadkill…and quit trying to rip people off.
      Loser.

      Antispam47 has something.
Since EW appearently doen’t care about SPAM, how about a new game. When this idiot shows up, let’s have a contest to see who can write the most clever answer/isult/parody about this guy. He’s here every day and gets paid (probably not $86 buck an hour) to put his scam on other people’s websites..

I knew it was coming, I missed this episode! Anyone know a way for a Canadian fan to see it?

Who wants to know who A is?
    Let me break it down:
EVIDENCE 1: Dr Sullivan said that she knew who A was. If you watch that episode carefully, you can see some of the patient file information. It states that A is the same age as the girls, and also that A was referred to Dr Sullivan from another patient. That would have to eliminate Garret, Jason, and Ian. Second, the person would have to have been referred to from another doctor. Third, it says that the patient feels the need to “police” the neigbourhood.
EVIDENCE 2: The Halloween episode gives alot of information. The episode starts off with Alison telling a story about twins, where one gets put into an asylum (much like what happens in the books – her twin Courtney). Now anyone else find it off that Jenna knew who Alison was already after she had just moved into town from somewhere else and only really knew Toby (scene at the costume shop)?
EVIDENCE THREE: In the bedroom scene, Alison has a picture on the wall of her two faces on both sides of Jason… odd much? And she is writing inside the diary, and if you look closely, those pages are FILLED with writing.
EVIDENCE FOUR: When Mia moved into town, they left all of Alison’s things at the corner of the street… possibly a diary was in those boxes.
EVIDENCE FIVE: Alison received her first weird text in the costume shop though it was unsignatured. Her first -A message was at the end of the party.
EVIDENCE SIX: While the producers might be taking a difference approach then the books, it was Mona and Courtney in them – first Mona, then Courtney, while Jenna gets murdered.
EVIDENCE SEVEN: Though the story Alison says seems as though the young girl died, she doesnt directly state that. She says “she drove the knife into her chest and watched her bleed out of her heart…” The heart DOES pump blood lol.
HYPOTHESIS: First – Now, while it could have been Mia who found the diary and easily sent those texts, she went away for a while and wasn’t allowed a mobile.
Second – it could be Jenna, but she was blind so unable to read pages in a diary, or for that matter really see anything around her. However, she and Garret “were the ones that killed her.” This could prove the illegitimacy of her blindness, but then why would she need therapy from a doctor (season 1)
It would have to be someone the girls’ age so that hints: Noel, Mona, Lucas, or (the possibility that the producers are introducing) Courtney.
Third – It would seem unlikely that Noel would tell the school that he himself cheated (season 2 – when he got suspended… at think it was cheating)
Final – I would find it highly unlikely that Lucas would stand being made fun of consistently by Mona and not retaliate, while she attempts to be Queen Bee at school (if he was A).
**I will leave the rest up to your imagination as to who it may be. However, just a hint… in the books, Courtney was put into Radley Sanitarium. It’s odd that a car with that same logo was placed just outside the Haunted House in the Halloween episode … just saying.
Make your own deductions, though it looks mighty obvious who it is. Oh and also.. in the novels, Alison was really the crazy one, while Courtney was the good one. However, Courtney was assuming the identity of Alison. (Stupid right? I know… That the work of a tasteless author writing teenage drama with little plotlines)
There are new books coming out though. They could always switch the real A (if they ever actually had a person in mind from the start) but that would be corny. Regardless, I feel like this show will just keep stringing the viewers along until the finale. Who wants to wait a year or two more to learn that Alison has a twin and the twin broke out of the asylum and was really A the whole time, with the help of Mona. You heard it here first people.
