NBC’s jungle-romance summer dating show Love in the Wild is getting a second season.

Love in the Wild pairs up singles in exotic challenges hoping to spark a relationship. The next round of the Endemol-produced show will have some new twists to spice up the drama (the first season was so successful at hooking people up, it lacked urgency at times). “The success of the relationships formed on the first season of this series is a testament to the unique format of this show,” said NBC reality chief Paul Telegdy. “We look forward to an even more compelling season as the series will return with new format twists and a new set of contestants who will conquer the wild — or not — to find love.” The first round averaged 5.5 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in the adult demo.

Great news. Was the best gameshow of the past season. Very underrated

I’m honestly shocked this got picked up for a second season and I actually watched the whole last season. If they can make it more “Paradise Hotel” and less Amazing Race it will be a lot more fun.

Will it be on in the spring or summer again?

A good indicator of how desperate NBC is to fill programming spots.

I like how the person writing this seems to think its a problem people actually found love so early in the show. The fact that the two major couples are (as far as we know) still together currently doesn’t seem to merit the same disdain.

Not every dating show has to have the couples fail you know.

Mike and Sam are still together! They just took their trip around the world!

Another example of America loving crap.

I’m acutally glad this show got renewed. I was pleasantly surprised I watched every episode since I’m not really into reality shows. Mostly, it just helped to pass time for me, but I was entertained. Mike and Samantha definitely seem made for each other (heck, I picked them to win from day one).

Totally agree! I found myself pleasantly surprised by this as a summer diversion–the final couples seemed shockingly normal and quite sweet together. Is there an update on what they’ve been doing since the show?

  • Val

Enjoyed the show but the host was a bore.
