Lifetime has ordered a new drama series pilot that could serve as a starring vehicle for Melanie Griffith.

The network has ordered the grandly titled American Housewife from Band of Brothers writer Erik Jendersen and Griffith’s husband Antonio Banderas. The Fox TV Studios project follows a housewife from an affluent family who’s constantly having a “conversation with an inner voice.”

Though the deals are not yet finalized, Griffith, Banderas and Ray Rickard are expected to be producers on the project along with Jendersen. Griffith is in talks to star. The project would mark Griffith’s first starring TV series gig since CBS’ short-lived Viva Laughlin.

It is nice club for rich men or pretty girls mate.
You do not need to be wealthy or famous, but you can meet your true love, it’s worthy a try.

I wish that Melanie Griffith would do more movies like she used to back in the 1980s and 1990s. She used to be huge.

    • meme

that was before she deformed her face with all the plastic surgery. and she was never ‘huge’ she was popular but never on the julia roberts level – that’s huge.

      • o

melanie does not look deformed but if you want to talk bad plastic surgery you see meg ryan.

    • Pope Benny

      Yes, but now she’s old.

  • Dee Jones

At least she`s working again. She ain`t been in nothing in a minute. I know she`s been asked to participate in Dancing with the Stars, but surprisingly turned them down. I would think she jump at that chance.

    • stu

      she was on Nip/Tuck.

  • this

One time she did a short lived sitcom where sara gilbert played her daughter and she was funny in that. She was also funny on her guest spot on hot in cleveland. She is pretty good in comedies.

    • Pope Benny

She was on Hot in Cleveland? Must have missed that episode. Was it a cameo?

      • Anonymous

on hot in cleveland she was playing a actress who had the victoria character playing her mom .

  • Erin

That sounds like an incredibly boring show

  • versok1

    Why is this news??

If Cherry 2000 was being remade, then I’d pay attention to an article about Melanie Griffith. Yes kids, look it up – it was a real movie.

  • Yourmother

Melanie, lose the tramp stamp…you’re a bit old for that, dear.

    Makes you look cheap….

    • Pope Benny

Just for your information, a “tramp stamp” refers to a tattoo on the lower back. This particular tattoo is a heart with the name of her husband Antonio. It makes her look more like a motorcycle chick.

  • Barack Palin

Matvw agw;ll recreate her topless vacuuming scene from “Working Girl”.

  • Grumpster

Amazing what outfits you can make with a shower curtain. Boy that MG has sure become a bone bag….yuck.
