Jeff Probst on episode 7 of 'Survivor: South Pacific'

Each week, host Jeff Probst answers a few questions about the most recent episode of Survivor: South Pacific.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Okay, Jeff. You’re on the Savaii tribe and Ozzy presents his plan to get voted out on purpose and go to Redemption Island. Yet you can’t be sure the merge is next, can’t be sure Ozzy will win the duel, and also know that the person he’s going against in Christine was voted out first on her tribe so there’s a pretty good chance you don’t even need to beat her because she may not even want to go back to Upolu. What do you do: go along with the plan or argue to cut Cochran loose instead?
JEFF PROBST: I go with the odds that the merge is coming, knowing that if Ozzy doesn’t make it back, we have Christine as a back up. It takes a big move and this is a great time and a great idea if executed properly. If I’m Cochran, I might also pray Ozzy loses and I get to keep the idol.  Finally, if I’m a fan of the show, I pull Ozzy aside and give him some basic acting lessons starting with: ”Less is more.”

I think you’re a good person, Jeff. But admit that, like me, you love seeing blindfolded people bash their heads into things on challenges. You love it! Admit it! It’s okay to give in to the dark side once in a while. That said, while I have no doubt you and the other producers want there to be collisions, I’m also guessing there is a fair amount of prep and discussion about how the courses are designed so that nothing too bad happens to anyone. Tell us about walking that fine line, and what sort of advice you give the contestants beforehand to keep them from bonking themselves unconscious.
Yes to all of the above. We do like collisions but we don’t want anybody being seriously injured. We start out with a test block where we just walk through the challenge without cameras to see how it’s playing. We’re usually a bit light on the obstacles at this point. So we add a few more well placed logs or barrels or trees, and then we bring in cameras and the full Dream Team and we run a full-on rehearsal. This is usually where most of the injuries occur. Based on the results of the rehearsal we back off or add obstacles. It’s always very tricky because the real Survivors tend to run much harder than the Dream Team so we have to anticipate that and try to accommodate accordingly. As for the advice, I always say the same thing : “Go hard.”

Religion has played a part on the show from the very first season, and has been a major storyline for the past two installments. I have to ask you because we’ve seen it asserted by contestants time and again on this show: Do you think God really cares who wins an immunity challenge and gets to go see a cross-dressing Adam Sandler comedy?
Well I’m a bit like Steve Jobs. I’m 50-50 on the God thing. If there is a God, then I’m guessing that from time to time s/he does check out Survivor and based on who is asking for the “favor,” probably does care about the outcome.  If it’s Coach and Coach is being sincere, I think God would probably lend him a bit of a hand.  I think God appreciates the journey/struggle Coach is on in this lifetime and he probably wants to throw him an encouraging bone. The key with all of this is to remember that simply because God helped one tribe doesn’t mean he doesn’t like the other, just not as much.

Tease us up for next week’s episode, Jeff.
If you thought Ozzy’s move was good, just wait till next week. Game Changer.

It will be great television if this plan backfires on Ozzy.
There are not enough laughs on Survivor.

    • Me

After the Redemption Island Duel, Ozzy said that he was worried because if Christine gets back into the game, she might “go to the other side.” You mean the side that voted her out? The side that she gripes about at every Duel? The side she gives the finger to when someone tries to cheer her on? That’s who you’re concerned about her aligning with at a potential merge?

Google “Sean’s Random Thoughts” for my full recap

      • Eric

Don’t google “Sean’s Random Thoughts.” Don’t support people who use other blogs/articles to advertise their own blogs/articles. Clearly “Sean” must be desperate for readers, which indicates he is probably not a great writer.

      • AB

Sean is a parasite. Don’t encourage him to suck off of EW and other people’s legitimate work.

      • anyone

I was wondering about that, too. It should be well known in Savaii that Christine is very bitter and won’t return to her tribe. But maybe they (Jim & Cochran) were thinking ahead and remembering they will have to get rid of Ozzy at some point anyway and this is a good way to do it. Looks like we’ll find out next week – I’m so excited!.

      • cookie

        Love your random thoughts Sean.

      • Barb

I read Sean’s blog. I read it every week. I found him here and I am glad I did.

      • GregR

Sean, where’s that $20 you owe me? I still have that package you wanted me to hold onto. What’s in it anyway? Dude, call me. And bring my money.

    • John Dreska

It might backfire. I just don’t see him winning. It’s going to backfire just like Jt’s plan did in H vs V!

  • davey

Seriously considering stopping watching all these religious based CBS reality shows…what is happening.? I can’t make it through one episode without hearing someone pray or hold a prayer circle after a challenge win! It takes all the evergy out of a great immunity challenge when they end with the religious crap!

    • Lauri

      Agreed…edit out the religion…!! Enough already…
Don’t really think any of these people are what they claim to be….just using religion like politicians do!

      • dally

Agree too! And seriously, to Jeff, does he really think god cares? If “god” did hear prayers to win a challenge on a reality show, wouldn’t they be tempted to help the other side who wasn’t bothering them with such trivial matters?

      • Father John Garkowski

To the person Lauri, I agree that talk about religion should be edited out of an episode if it’s done in an inappropriate manner. But not if the person genuinely means what they are saying about God. And to Dally, from what I read in that question session with Dalton Ross and what I took from it was that Jeff Probst is not a believer or is doubtfall. He said if there is a God! But I must not judge him and he only could have been saying that for the sake of the interview but really is a genuine believer.

      • Rock Golf

@Fr John: But remember, only 10 minutes earlier in the show, Coach was just as earnestly praying to find the Idol that he already had in his possession. And Mini-Hantz was so over-the-top obsequious in his prayer that even the Pope would have “Please… enough already!”

      • earl

How is it possible to know if somebody is genuine in what they say about god? That’s kind of ridiculous in and of itself. But I don’t care that much, it was the source of a lot of unintentional comedy last night, with Coach earnestly praying for them to find the immunity idol with it already in his possession.

      • Snsetblaze

And Sophie seems to be the only one who caught the irony of Coach’s actions. That man gets more and more insufferable as the seasons go on. I think I liked the delusional dragonslayer bit better.

And as for god taking a side in survivor, he, she, it or they, interfere’s here but not with all of the other way more important problems in the world?

      • Lilac

I am an atheist but I usually can take a lot of the God stuff in stride but it WAS over the top last night and seemed like the Big Ol’ Coach Revival Show. Coach forcing everyone to their knees was ridiculous. It seems presumptuous to assume that everyone is comfortable with praying in such a way. From Sophie’s past comments she is obviously not religious. Props to her with going along with it all so she seems like one of the boys but her inner eyes had to be rolling!

      • EWinMD

Is this CBS or EWTN? They tape them 24 hours a day, they could find a more few non-religious moments. It’s nice that they have faith but for the past two seasons it’s been shown way too much on this show.

      • Juneau

Yeah – God didn’t bother to help the victims of the Holocaust or 9/11 or any other massive tragedy, but he’s going to help people win $1 mil on a TV show. Jeff, I thought you had more intelligence than that.

      • Larry

What are you talking about Juneau, of course God helped the people in the Holocaust, they were liberated weren’t they. Hitler’s final solution failed, and led to the creation of Israel, fulfilling the prophesy. As for 9/11, if you can’t see how God helped us with that, then I feel sorry for you. He intervened in the 2000 election, making Bush president, and giving us the gift of his leadership after 9/11. Really, open your eyes.

      • Millay

Hi Larry. So it God we have to blame for Bush. Good to know. I guess now we know for sure he doesn’t always listen.

      • GregR

what are you talking about Larry? So God waited until 6 million plus people were slaughtered until he intervened? How did God help in 9/11? Don’t feel sorry, people don’t need your sorrow. Why don’t you explain your ridiculous statement. Also, if God intervened in 2000 and made Bush president, then why does anybody bother to vote? Let God handle it. Bush was already in office when 9/11 happened, aka the “Inside Job”. Gift of his leadership? We should have asked for a receipt so we could have returned that gift. It didn’t work.

      • Jim Rice

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I think Larry was just being facetious and having a little fun with us.
If that’s the case, then Larry…good one!

If it’s not the case, then Larry…..you are one messed up lunatic.

      • Soyvivor

If encountering religious content less than 1% of the time on Prime Time TV and probably less than that in your life is too much, I feel sorry for you. It amazes me that people are so sensitive to something that is core to human existence. I don’t necessarily like the violence, language, and other garbage on TV but I don’t complain everytime is see it or hear it. I manage it internally.

      • c jones

        Father John Garkowski:

Jeff doesn’t have to disbelieve to say “If there is a God”
He said 50% of him questions and the other half knows.
Most of us have doubts, and if you fully believe in one religion, than you doubt the others, so you still have doubts.

Should thay have put religion in or take it out? Of course put it in! Look how it is a big part of the conversation here! Should they have shown them making rice instead??? Would we be talking about rice???? I think not.

    • Brock

So turn the channel. I’m sure if you stop watching, CBS will be forced to cancel the show.

      • Redhead

I love the show, but I hate listening to the praying.

      • Tommy D

Rock Golf has just outed himself as being a wiseguy Hantz hater. It’s Brandon Hantz not mini-Hantz rockhead. Brandon’s reactions to Coach’s prayer and the idol weren’t over the top. Editing makes things look a different way then they actually are. In real time on Samoa that was a triumph of the spirit for Brandon and it should have been for you as well but it’s understandable why it’s not. Because you are a miserable Hantz hater.

      • Sue

Ditto with Redhead. Also, it is rare that they show any other point of view. Yes, Sophie did see the problem with Coach’s praying but no – “guys, I’m not Christian” (or any form of it) or “you know, I really don’t think that whomever is up there cares about this” or “I don’t believe”. And what would have happened if they lost …

Plus, now it adds to Coach’s delusional nature that they won the last challenge because god favored him personally. Ditto for Brandon.

I really had hoped Upolu would have lost just to see the Coach’s and Brandon’s reactions. But then again, that means more Coach and Brandon on screen.

      • dexx

Brock, Only if a large number of people with neilson like boxes that is.

      • Father John Garkowski

You know if somebody is genuine earl by looking into their eyes and seeing their reactions and actions to what they are saying. And of course what they are saying. It’s called being a good judge of character. True, many people put on masks in this game and pretend but you can always sepereate those from the ones that don’t earl. At least I can.

      • Father John Garkowski

I will pray for you Lilac that you change your atheist ways. And begin to believe in the lord and to the poster snsetblaze there is no multiple God’s nor she or it. That is disrespectful to the most high and violates the 1st commandment. I shall pray for you aswell.

      • Jim Rice is a Jerk

Nothing more needs to be said except that he’s a jerk and so is any imposter that would want to pretend to be that fool.

    • Brandon

Survivor isn’t “religious-based”. It’s a reality show. Some of these people are religious and do actually believe God has a favorite in “Survivor”. The show isn’t commenting on this. The producers just find it interesting…. and it is. If you’re not religious, you can just look at it as another crazy thing some of these wackos on the show do. Plus, they also showed how Coach USED religion as a motivator and fanned those flames by asking God to help him “find” the immunity idol, then goes and gets the Idol he already has. Unknowingly or not, Coach just used religion to manipulate his tribe.

      • Father John Garkowski

It shouldn’t be considered a crazy thing that wackos as you put it do on the show my son. I agree with the manipulation done by Coach with his tribe and that isn’t good, even in a game setting Brandon.

      • AB

Was that supposed to be coherent English? Because you made no sense, “father.”

      • uhm

        he isnt your son…”father”

its pretty plain and simple. cult=definition of what you represent

      • Father John Garkowski

When there’s not enough praying, that’s what should bother you redhead! There’s no such thing as too much praying.

      • Saline

Having more and more of Brandon and Coach Wade is a good thing. Not a bad thing Sue.

      • Father Guido Sarducci

        Dragon Slayer ,
… if you coulda be any animal in the world, whata would it be?”

      • Aussie K

Maybe the next survivor challenge is to build a chapel so we can have proper church services, feels like the show is going that way. Imagine what people would say if there were some Muslims on the show and after the challenge win they all knelt down and prayed to Mecca. That would be cool especially if Jeff just happened to be standing in front of them.

    • BJG

I agree ith Davey. It’s one thing for Mike Skupin, to give an old Survivor example, to play Survivor according to his faith, but for Coach to force his tribe to pray to his god, his way is the height of arrogance. I wonder what “the big guy upstairs is on our side” Brandon thought when he found out that Coach had the idol all along and was playing Brandon for a fool?

      • Father John Garkowski

It’s not just his God BJG! He’s your God to! And that isn’t an appropriate screen name my child.

      • Tommy D

Brandon never thought that because Coach never would have played him for a fool. Which isn’t possible since Brandon isn’t a fool. You are however BJG!

      • g

I’m a Pastaferian, so Coach was not praying to my God. And I would thank you not to be so presumptuous so early in the morning. I hope you will one day be touched by His noodly appendage and know the actual one true God.

      • Ann

That would be hilarious if someone brought up the noodle god on the show.

      • BJG

@Tommy. There is anything wrong with me pointing out that Coach used prayer to trick Brandon into thinking that God gave them the idol and cover up the fact that Coach had it all along. I like Brandon but I think Coach is taking advantage of him. @Fake Father. My screen name is nothing more than my initials. I am unaware of any inapproprate meaning they may have. If I believed that you were an actual ordaned minister I would be very disturbed that you see something lacivious in three simple letters. However, you’re probably just a Survivor fan with a subscription to EW and some free time to spend on the computer being contrary.

      • earl

I think he thought it meant ‘Blow Job Giveaway’ lol.

      • BJG

LOL Earl. I had no idea. They really are just my initials.

      • Father John Garkowski

To AB and Uhm! I know why you disagree with me. Because you are non-believers but I willl take the high road and suggest to you that you seek out the lord so that he can bless and save your soul my two sons.

      • Jim Rice

One thing these “Fathers” know is blow jobs.

      • Jim Rice is a Jerk

To Father Guido Sarduci, That animal would be a weasel because I’m Jim the Jerk Rice.

    • maggie may

The Coach team prayer – praying for an idol – and then Brandon believing the prayer actually help his team find the idol was the funniest thing I have seen of tv in a long time.

      • TV Mom

Listening to Coach hold revival and prayer meetings while lying, cheating, and having the Idol already makes me sick. Playing with integrity? NOT. What a scam artist he is. I don’t get why Jeff and the producers seem to love him and keep having him back. I can’t stomach him at all.

      • Tommy D

It did work actually Maggie May. Because praying in the first place is what helped Coach find the idol a few episodes ago. So Brandon’s reaction to is was delayed because he didn’t know he found it many days ago but it all was true. The time was off is all.

      • Father John Garkowski

I am a real priest BJG! But if you do not believe me. I shall not press the matter.

      • Ali

Father John, are you against abortion because you yourself was aborted?

      • Cosmic TeePee

Brandon is such a little freak. He looks deformed. Someone should punch that deranged little leprechaun in the ear.

    • Father John Garkowski

That shouldn’t bother you my son by enlighten you. Hearing people proclaim their faith is always joyful and makes me happy. And makes the lord happy. Remember what Jesus said, proclaim me to the world. And when people do they are doing the lord’s work.

      • matthew

Really? Coach pretty much forced them into that prayer circle? What if some of them aren’t Catholic? Coach/Brandon are obnoxious and deranged.

      • Lilac

Everytime you call someone “my son” it makes you sound incredibly condescending and like you are saying a bunch of nonsense just to get people irritated.

    • Father John Garkowski

Davey you need to learn to not use language like that saying relgious ====! That isn’t the way to talk about religion and is considered a sin. Repent before it’s too late. And don’t allow people proclaiming their faith on tv to cause you to stop watching or get frustrated to the point of sin. You and everybody should get frustrated when people aren’t bringing up their beliefs on tv or anywhere. That’s when there should be cause for concern and frustration. Not in hearing it.

      • BJG

There are so many people on this site whoes friends met thier millionare fience on a web site, that I forgot all about the people who pretend to be experts in whatever we’re discussing. Well done, Fake Father. I forgot how much I mssed you!

      • Father Guido Sarducci

        Will you lighten up Father.

    • NedPepper

Agree one hundred percent. I have no problem if a person is religious, but I’m tired of Survivor becoming a platform for it. Matt was extremely annoying and now we have Coach and Brandon…although when I think about, they are the two biggest whack jobs on the show…seriously though, this is a show about backstabbing and greed. God doesn’t belong here.

      • BJG

I didn’t think Matt was so annoying. He prayed and he read the Bible as a way of finding strength, but he didn’t force it. Coach, on the other hand, forced his tribe to pray his way. If Coach was truly a man of God, rather than a man of convienient opportunity, he wouldn’t have put on that whole “Please God help us find the idol” charade. I don’t believe that Matt would lie to God like that.

      • Sue

I have to agree with BJG. The big difference – with Matt it seemed real, whether I agreed with it or not and you are right, he did not force it on others — the few that talked about religion came to Matt. (And if you think about it, another point of view was shown – Rob, who thought the whole thing was ridiculous but that was kept to the cameras). With Coach, it seems so fake.

      • GregR

It’s not the show’s fault if religion is a factor in the game. If you say you have no problem with a person being religious, then that’s why the players bring it. You said you didn’t have a problem with it.

    • orville

I don’t mind contestants having faith and demonstrating that faith on air, but what gets me is when a contestant forces his or her religion on others in the game. It just feels to me, in this episode at least, that Coach is forcing his faith on other tribe members as a way of “bonding” with them all.

      • Moo

Here’s a thought: remember how the alliance of 5 on Upolo kind of bonded from the first day? What if they bonded over religion? They all sit down together and discover and realize they are all practicing Christians? They believe they can trust each other because they have that bond? It makes sense to me and makes sense of why everyone was willing to get in that prayer circle.

      • GregR

Nobody forced anybody to do anything. If I were there, I wouldn’t have bowed, kneeled or prayed if I didn’t want to, and nobody, even Benja…, I mean, Coach would have made me either.

    • sash fan

I agree wholeheartedly! Coach praying to find an idol he already has? Faker!! I’ve had enough of this also.

      • Saline

Sash was a phony from Harlem. Don’t title your post with such nonsense!

    • GOD

HEY, COACH? IT’S ME. SORRY ABOUT THE ALL-CAPS, BUT, Y’KNOW, IT’S KINDA MY THING.
ANYHOO, I GAVE YOU HEALTH, GOOD PARENTS, AND THREE FREAKIN OPPORTUNITIES AT A MILLION BUCKS AND A WORLD-WIDE AUDIENCE.
I’VE DONE MY BIT. THE REST IS UP TO YOU.
      QUIT BUGGIN ME.

      • TCin NJ

        Thanks, GOD

      • Breeze

Thank you for the laugh. I was hoping that Coach would be struck by lightening…

      • BJG

        Amen

    • Melissa in CA

100% agree with you davey. There’s nothing wrong with having faith. But praying to win a reality show challenge? Come on! And forcing your beliefs on someone else? That’s unacceptable. I REALLY want to see Survivor: Atheists vs Jesus Freaks. Or just Survivor: Atheist Island, so I don’t have to see the praying or people being so weak that they can’t take responsibility for their own successes or failures.

      • BJG

Is a hooker with sexual initials! This is a very disturbing human being.

    • Danny

As one of the majority of the people on this planet who is not a Christian this public praying stuff for prizes makes me crazy. First, if you believe in God how disrespectful to think that God is busy caring about you getting an immunity idol around the same time that Japan is being crushed by an earthquake and tsunami and genocide is occurring in Darfur. Second, there must be members of that team who are not Christian or if they are that aren’t comfortable praying to see an Adam Sandler movie. But if they voice an objection they are ostracized. It’s really all very offensive.

      • Outsider

Yeah they really just need to get a Muslim on this show and watch the island explode with Christians vs. Islam.

    • uhm

it bugs me to no end. religion really needs to be left out of this. plus, how often do we see someone discussing their belief in no god at all, or their belief in buddah? its always a christian or catholic thing. Im tired of it

    • GregR

So what they prayed? It was ridiculous because really, God’s going to choose one tribe over another? I don’t think so. But why do so many people get all excited because they pray? You get to see how ridiculous these people are. If the tribe is going to do whatever Benja…, I mean Coach says, that’s their problem. I wouldn’t do it. But it’s odd how words of prayer grates on people, like holy water being sprinkled on a vampire or something.

  • friendorfoe

The right wing christian prayer group stuff is getting on my nerves. If it weren’t for Ozzy’s ridiculous plan, I would have stopped watching this series yesterday! Sad to see Sophie and Albert getting sucked into that patriarchal, simplistic religious bs by a bunch of ignoramuses.

    • chrissy

Yes, the religion is getting to be too much. And feeling fake. You got Brandon vacillating between temptations of the flesh and an overly developed image of himself as pure, Coach with his strange mix of different religions (who sees himself as this Father figure he keeps invoking and has no problem calling for God’s help as part of a sham), and just a whole host of other issues. Like, if God is so pro-Upolu,why did Savaii win last week and why is Christine still on RI to turn on Upolu?

      • earl

        It’s all a mystery.

      • Jim Rice

I figured Coach for a Buddhist.

    • Snsetblaze

I’m not sure Sophie really is sucked in — especially since they go to her when they need someone to call coach on his BS on camera. She seems to be going with the flow so that her position in the tribe does not change. Albert, I can’t tell because we don’t really get the same type of sound bite that we do with Sophie. We don’t see these two enough though either way.

      • Saline

To Jim Rice(Imposter or real one) I, the Great Saline figured you for a jerk. And I was right.

  • bh

Uggg, Ozzy is so full of himself. Vote him off this show forever.

  • MarkL

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Jeff, does God see only the edited episode with humble Coach or does he have access to all the footage?

    • BELLA

      BEST. COMMENT. EVER.

      Ha.

I’m so over the fake bullcrap of the prayer circles and blah blah. God really doesn’t care about Survivor people. Really. DOESNT.

    • Lilac

      You win the interwebs!

  • Cloudshoveller

I truly value the gift of prayer and it turned my stomach to see the mockery Coach made of it when “asking” for help to find the idol he already possessed. I agree with Dalton in his recap that it is funny and puzzling that the players think God would be so highly invested in the outcome of their Survivor play. I would gladly take my Survivor without all the ‘prayer’ and ‘religion’ talk actually!

  • Tom

I find the “seriously tired of the religious reality shows” comment kinda funny. If the people on the show are religious (of any religion) and it’s a “reality” show….. you get the people on it thus you get their beliefs too. So, you could save some keystrokes by putting you are tired of reality shows.

Just out of curiosity, are you also one who thinks Christians are non-tolerant when you are the one slamming them for talking about their beliefs?

    • Taki

Tom, if you knew anything about the Bible, you would know that Jesus Christ HIMSELF disliked those who went about proclaiming their beliefs in public–in fact he called them whited sepulchers (hypocrites). It’s fine that these people have their faith, but it appears phony and hysterical to those of us who would prefer to keep something so private to themselves. You’d probably be the first to complain if there was a gay person on there shrieking about how great his lifestyle is. Enough already.

      • Tom

Not really – I enjoy several shows with people who are gay are contestants. Just because I do not agree with some of the things of others, do not mean I can not enjoy them or the show.

Also, since I study the Bible quite a bit….. you are close to being correct. Jesus did not chastise people for public displays of their faith, he chastised them for fake displays of their faith. For some on Survivor, that could be very true, for some, I believe they are in sincere. In either case, I can not see their hearts like Christ can so I don’t pass judgement.

      • Elizabeth

I like what Tom said – Matt last year I believe was genuine in his Christian faith. He talked about it, but didn’t force people to participate. Coach -. I think of him asa religous man – taking bits and pieces of different religions and making up his own interpretation, than actually being a true, genuine Christian. That and he’s doing it for the cameras – cause tv producers love nothing more than a good controversial topic.

      • Ann

But for the person who led the group – Coach – it was a fake display of his faith. For some of the others, it might have been as well because they just went along with the group.

  • Caro

Wow, I always knew Probst was a dope, but I didn’t realize he was so close to “mentally challenged.” Does he honestly think that fake show of religious fervor from BENJAMIN was sincere? Probst needs to take his head in for servicing. What an idiot.

    • Me

He didn’t say he thought Coach was sincere, he said “if Coach was sincere.”

    • Lisa

Probst’s comments about Coach and religion were clearly ironic!

Coach is such a ridiculous cheese-ball. His post-win religious exaltation was just absurd, and painful to watch. What a self-serving egomaniac he is!

  • Esme

    Shut up, Probst.

    • Hooligan

Shut up Esme. Have some respect for Jeff. Survivor would be not as good without him.

      • Rock Golf

Correction: the show would be nothing without him. Jeff quits or retires, just pack Survivor up. It’s over.

      • Redhead

        I agree.

  • maggie may

This season is finally bringing the idiocy of religion/prayer for a reality tv game show to the forefront.

    • SLB

Got that right. How embarrassing to watch. I started kinda liking Coach until all this religious crap. Brandon is just an idiot period.

  • LOL

    America loves crap.

    • @LOL

You are at this all hours of the day…i have no choice but to pity you for your lack of a life. Get a job or something!

  • Wanda

How on earth does an ordained minister which Jeff Probst claims to be say if there is a God! Probst is nothing but a non believing atheist. With all the things he’s seen concerning human nature in the game of survivor and all the places and cultures he’s seen how dare he even say such a thing. Dimwit Dalton shouldn’t have asked him such a question but that was a terrible answer Probst. And you have outed yourself as an atheist. And God is a he, not a she.

    • Elizabeth

He got his certificate off the internet – it’s not like he went to seminary.

    • Victor

“And you have outed yourself as an atheist”

Seriously? Way to overreact, right there. What’s so bad about not believing in God (or any other god for that matter)?

      • Wanda

What’s so bad about not believing in God is existing on this earth and tolerating people like you Victor when I know that that God created you as he did me. Without God in the picture you are just a nasty bug that I have to squash.

    • Tonic

Wait, God has male parts? Wow. Have you seen them to verify? What was it like?

    • Redhead

      You are an idiot!

      • Wanda

Tonic is a vile Atheist that is going straight to hell when he or she dies.

    • uhm

so an atheist viewpoint has less merit? I find it interesting how those who are very religious, feel they can put down anyone who doesnt believe just because they dont. the fact is, an atheist is allowed to make up their mind much like you are, the difference being, when was the last time an atheist took time on survivor to express their beliefs?

    • A Fish Called Wanda

I agree with Redhead. You really are an idiot, Wanda.

      • Wanda

A jerk called redhead! I disagree with Redbrain. You really are an even bigger idiot then he is. Being that you are an Anonymous poster that’s afraid to type under a real name.

  • Meli

Whatever happened to the idea that you don’t tempt Survivor Karma? We’ve seen it over and over again, if you attempt to fix the outcome it will come back to bite your butt. Ozzy deliberately having himself sent to RI is just another example of this. Savaii and Ozzy just doomed themselves.

    • chrissy

Tempting Survivor karma in deed, this makes no sense on ANY level. Send Cochran. Whether you get Christine or Cochran back, you have someone back for Savaii (I don’t think Cochran would turn at this point, and Christine would no way vote for the people she gave a finger to last week, or who were helping Michayla this week. Duh. If there’s a challenge you need Ozzy and you need NOT to have Cochran. Just no logic at all in sending Ozzy over. NONE. Stupidest play ever. Worse than giving Hantz the idol.

      • spectator

You mean goodie two shoes JT sacrificing the idol to the Prince of Darkness?

LOL that was the most thrilling scene ever. And Parvati’s reaction… PRICELESS lol

Ozzy’s one of my favorites ever but at times he can be dumb as rocks (which makes for great drama which is why he is one of my favorites lol)

        Survivor 4ever.

  • Mikey

All season long, something’s been missing. I haven’t been able to place it until it showed up last night. Finally, after being out there a few weeks… I’m so happy that Coach’s eagle made an appearance.

    • anyone

LOL – I caught that, too!

  • Converted

I want to thank Jeff for his spiritual insight. Through his comments I have found Jesus. You bring such praise to the Lord, Jeff! Thanks for preaching the word via Survivor!
