The Real World: Zuccotti Park? While the 27th season of MTV’s reality mainstay The Real World (which is currently situated in sunny San Diego) likely won’t actually take place in the downtown Manhattan hub where the Occupy Wall Street movement has swelled over the past month, Bunim/Murray Productions is hoping some of the politically-minded 20-somethings who have taken part in the historic operation will also want to take part in the television landmark.

On Tuesday night, Bunim/Murray, the company which produces and casts for The Real World, put up a post on New York City’s Craigslist with the subject “Part of Occupy Wall Street? Real World 27 Wants You!” The post reads: READ FULL STORY »

No, not 30 Rock3rd Rock, as in 3rd Rock From the Sun.

Former co-star of the NBC hit sitcom, French Stewart, is set to guest star on NBC’s Community this season. Stewart will play Vincent, the owner of a celebrity impersonator service. Vincent was once a celebrity impersonator himself — or he might be French Stewart incognito. Abed (Danny Pudi) wants to cast celebrity look-a-likes to reenact films and finds himself in heavy debt to the menacing Vincent.

The episode will air early next year. Stewart is also providing a voice for Fox’s upcoming new animated comedy Allen Gregory.

'The Secret Circle' scoop: Adam's father, Ethan, is about to get interesting!

Circle-Wake-Adam

The next two episodes of The Secret Circle are going to be big for Ethan (Adam Harrington), Adam’s father. SPOILER ALERT if you’re an episode behind: “Obviously last week’s episode was shocking, and Nick’s death/murder, depending on how you look at it, really hits Ethan hard,” Harrington says. “What we start to see is that a lot of his drinking has been him just not wanting to deal with the past. It takes him right back to those events 16 years ago, which of course makes Ethan hit the bottle even harder, and he ends up saying something to Diana that he shouldn’t have said. It seriously has an effect on her relationship with Adam from now on.”

In addition to Nick’s death, Harrington says the return to town of Nick’s older brother Jake (guest star Chris Zylka) also stirs things up. ”The new character changes the dynamic in the group and has a real big effect on how Adam and Cassie interact. We can’t forget that Ethan knows what happened 16 years ago, he was there, he saw it all go down. His idea — don’t mess with fate because bad things will happen — well, Adam and Cassie are supposed to be together. He believes that, and if that doesn’t happen, it’s messing with fate. So Ethan’s starting to get really worried about the safety of his son and these kids.” READ FULL STORY »

EW has found NBC’s secret Fear Factor plans! We had to break into a Van Nuys warehouse and dig through a plexiglass box filled with spiders, but at the bottom we scored the network’s scheduling strategy for the return of the classic reality hit, plus the first photos of the revamped show.

Fear Factor will have a two-hour premiere on Monday, Dec. 12 — taking over the slot after The Sing Off concludes on Dec. 5. Producers have promised a more spectacular edition of the show that takes advantage of modern stunt technology, plus it’s in HD for the first time. Also on board is the show’s original sarcastic host, Joe Rogan (who in the above pic looks more surly than ever).

“The fans of the original show are not going to be disappointed and Rogan is exactly the same — it’s classic, it looks amazing,” says Paul Telegdy, NBC’s president of alternative and late night programming. “I had forgotten why this show has the best title in TV — fear is a primal instinct that you rarely see engaged on television.” READ FULL STORY »

Another night of The X Factor – in which the judges revealed their top 17 finalists – helped Fox to post a win among adults 18-49 (3.8 rating/10 share), according to early results. Call it a ripoff of The Voice, or a stepchild of American Idol, but the fact is Fox has won every single night it has aired The X Factor. The network has also dominated on every Tuesday night so far this season among 18-49. Winner winner chicken dinner!

Now on to the competition. Tim Allen, where did some of your fans go? Last Man Standing was down 17% from its premiere, but it still earned a tidy 3.0/9 and 10.1 million viewers. Unfortunately for the premiere of Man Up!, viewers were kind of sick of men by 8:30 p.m. — the new comedy only posted a 2.4/6 and 7.7 million. Dancing With The Stars (so long, Carson Kressley!) earned a 2.6/6 and 13.5 million, its lowest-rated regular fall telecast ever, and Body of Proof nabbed a 1.9/5 and 9.4 million. READ FULL STORY »

Carson Kressley may not have always earned the highest scores, but he certainly delivered the biggest laughs on Dancing with the Stars this fall. Too bad the guy who kept the judges and his fellow celebrities in stitches didn’t last to see another day under the mirror ball: Kressley, whose jive with Anna Trebunskaya: was called “a crowning achievement in madness” on Monday, became the latest contestant to live Dancing with the Stars. HBO’s adaptation of The Corrections is one step closer to reality with the addition of one (and likely two) Academy Award winners: Dianne Wiest has agreed to star in the prospective series, while Chris Cooper is close to signing on as well, EW has confirmed. (Deadline first reported the news.)

Wiest — whose last TV gig was on the HBO drama In Treatment — and Cooper would play the troubled Midwestern parents of three adult children. The author of the acclaimed 2001 novel, Jonathan Franzen, is penning the script with Noah Baumbach, who would direct the pilot, while Scott Rudin is serving as executive producer. The network has yet to give the greenlight for a pilot — emphasis on yet.
