Two guys from True Blood are set to spice up ABC’s midseason drama GCB. Kevin Alejandro and Grant Bowler both signed deals to appear in the show’s debut season, and will even share an episode.

GCB (formally titled Good Christian Bitches Belles) has cast Alejandro as Danny — a local butcher who offers to supply meat for Booby-licious (that’s a Hooters-like restaurant in the show) on the condition that Marisol Nichols’ character Heather goes on a date with him.

Alejandro is in one episode, while Bowler will appear in at least two — playing Mason Massey, a “frozen foods magnate and thoroughbred horse breeder.” Sparks fly when Bowler meets with Cricket (Miriam Shor) to negotiate stud fee for his prize horse.

Booby-licious? Dating for brisket? TV dinner-making horse breeders? Okay, these descriptions have us really intrigued. GCB is from Robert Harling (Steel Magnolias) and producer Darren Star (Sex and the City). There’s no premiere date yet, but here’s the show’s trailer: READ FULL STORY »

'Simpsons': See Homer's epic fart scene in 'Treehouse of Horror' -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

What if we were to tell you that on the night before Halloween, you will witness an unprecedented act of flatulence from Homer Simpson? What if we also were to point out that this was all part of a send-up of the acclaimed 2007 French film The Diving Bell and the Butterfly? Would that excite/intrigue/slightly disturb you? We thought so. That is why we have scored a first look at one of the three segments from this Sunday’s “Treehouse of Horror XXII.” In “The Diving Bell and the Butterball,” Homer becomes paralyzed after being bitten by a spider, and Lisa soon discovers that the only way he can communicate is via his derriere. This year’s trilogy also includes winks to 127 HoursAvatar, and Dexter, but we think you might agree that it’s the following scene which breaks terrifying new ground wind. READ FULL STORY »

Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk urge 'American Horror Fans' to pressure DirecTV

Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are getting involved in the current contractual stalemate between Fox Networks, which owns the cable station that airs their American Horror Story, and DirecTV. Beginning Nov. 1, FX shows — as well as programs on National Geographic, Speed, and several other Fox stations — will no longer be available to DirecTV subscribers unless the two parties negotiate a new deal. At the root of the disagreement is the price of subscriber fees. DirectTV says Fox is demanding a 40 percent increase, while Fox responds that they’re only looking to get rates similar to deals they have with other providers.

In a video on Facebook, the two co-creators of the spooky FX show urge fans to “Don’t Let DirecTV Take Away American Horror Story.” “Do it now before they turn off FX and you miss nine all-new episodes of American Horror Story,” said Falchuk. “Thank you for your support.”

InsideTV Podcast: Mikayla from 'Survivor' says she is 'praying for' Brandon. Plus: Murder and mayhem on 'Sons of Anarchy'

Lingerie football player turned Playboy cover girl turned island temptress Mikayla Wingle is not opposed to flaunting her assets. Unfortunately for her, Brandon was. And his creepy, borderline stalkerish behavior ultimately led to her exit from Survivor: South Pacific. Making the entire escapade even more bizarre is the fact that Mikayla had no idea about Brandon’s obsession until she watched it herself on television. We learned that and more when Mikayla called in to talk to Jessica Shaw and yours truly on the latest InsideTV Podcast. Unsurprisingly, Mikayla is none too fond of Brandon — whom, in an ironic twist, she says she is “praying for” — but she also has some harsh words for Rick (the guy with the moustache who never speaks), Coach (whom she accuses of basically being the worst coach of all-time), and Edna (whom she pegs as “just a vote”). She also tells us which side she would have joined up with had she made it back into the game after the merge. (Oooh, alternate reality intrigue!) READ FULL STORY »

'Jimmy Kimmel Live!': Get a first look at the show's new opening!

Virgil once said: ”Look with favor upon a bold beginning.” We haven’t studied up too much on the great Roman poet, but we’re guessing he wouldn’t mind if you used those words as lofty introduction for the new opening credits for Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The ABC late-night talk show has featured the same sequence since its debut back in 2003, but that all changes tonight. Gone are the days when Jimmy shuffled his way to work on Hollywood Boulevard in a three-quarter sleeve baseball shirt; he’s now a sleek-outfitted special-ops superhero who urgently zip-lines and ninja-tumbles his way to the studio. Hurry, Jimmy! Rebecca Romijn isn’t going to flirt with herself and the Fray must play! Get your first peek at the new opening below. READ FULL STORY »

'Survivor,' ABC ratings leap thanks to World Series cluster-fudge

UPDATED: The World Series was supposed to air Wednesday night. So all of Fox’s rivals ran repeats to avoid the heavy competition — psych! With Game 6 rained out at the last minute, Fox re-aired episodes of Glee. So here we are, the week before the November sweeps kick in, with everybody needlessly firing blanks in primetime.

Well, almost everybody: Female-skewing ABC hedged its bets by repeating Modern Family, but the rest of its lineup ran intact. Smart play. The network was able to take advantage of the fake-out and score series highs for its other comedies. The Middle (10.2 million, 3.1) was up slightly this week. Then Suburgatory (9.8 million, 3.4) and Happy Endings (8.3 million, 3.5) jumped. And finally Revenge (8.7 million, 2.8) climbed to its second-best number of the season.

Also last night, CBS aired Survivor (11.6 million, 3.4) and that did well also — its best rating since its September premiere (great episode too). The focus now shifts to tonight and Friday — Will Fox’s rivals who bet against a Game 7 airing tonight and planned original episodes get hammered by Game 6? And what will happen to NBC’s Grimm and Chuck premieres if there is a Game 7 on Friday?

'Shameless': First Look at William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum from season 2 -- PHOTO

Categories: First Look, Shameless

The Gallagher family won’t stumble back to Showtime until January, but it’s never too early to start pregaming before the party starts. Those who missed this loving-yet-dysfunctional family’s antics over their own summer should worry no more, because EW obtained an exclusive first look photo of William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum that proves that Shameless’ mischief is far from over. (See it after the jump!)

“Fiona [Rossum] is trying to deny that she was really in love with Steve, so she’s dating other people,” teased exec producer and showrunner John Wells. “She makes a mistake about who she sleeps with, someone that she knows from high school, and now she’s being chased by that person. She ends up hiding under the table with Frank [Macy]. He thinks it’s very amusing that now she’s hiding.”

Wells also gave EW some exclusive details on season 2 of the addictive family dramedy, which will showcase an eventful summer in Chicago’s South Side. Get ready for new additions, steamy love triangles, get-rich-quick schemes, and, of course, more run-ins with the law for Frank. READ FULL STORY »
