NBC is ordering a wee bit more of new comedy Up All Night.
The Will Arnett and Christina Applegate series already received a full-season order (along with fellow newcomer Whitney) soon after its September launch. Now NBC has increased its freshman order from 22 to 24 episodes. The move is it bit surprising, since although critics have responded positively to the series, the ratings have been really modest — a recent episode generated 4.8 million viewers and a 1.8 among adults 18-49. But the show is moving from having to jump-start Tuesdays to following The Office on Thursdays starting Jan. 12, so hopefully things will pick up.
