Andy Cohen has been bringing “the 411″ on all things Bravo from his boozy late night talk show, Watch What Happens Live, since 2009. But as many a dedicated Housewives fan will tell you, two nights a week of NeNe Lekes is simply never enough. Bravo announced on Monday that beginning Jan. 8, 2012, Watch What Happens will air five original episodes a week, making it the only daily live show on late night television. Fun fact: It is also the only daily live show on late night television that prominently features a turtle named after a perpetually drunk New York socialite.  READ FULL STORY »

Someone tell Kathy Beth Terry.

Katy Perry has just announced via Twitter she’ll be hosting the Dec. 10 episode of Saturday Night Live with musical guest Robyn. “I’m SO excited 2 announce I’ll be HOSTING Saturday Night Live Dec. 10! This is the cherry on top and @robynkonichiwa is part of it!” (NBC confirms the news to EW.)

'Up All Night' gets two more episodes

NBC is ordering a wee bit more of new comedy Up All Night.

The Will Arnett and Christina Applegate series already received a full-season order (along with fellow newcomer Whitney) soon after its September launch. Now NBC has increased its freshman order from 22 to 24 episodes. The move is it bit surprising, since although critics have responded positively to the series, the ratings have been really modest — a recent episode generated 4.8 million viewers and a 1.8 among adults 18-49. But the show is moving from having to jump-start Tuesdays to following The Office on Thursdays starting Jan. 12, so hopefully things will pick up.

NBC buys comedy about the puppets next door

Categories: Deals

Puppets on NBC? Hey, the fourth place network could do worse: NBC is developing a comedy script with The Jim Henson Co.about a human family that lives next to one made up of puppets.

The project’s called The New Nabors, and its from scribes John Hoffman (Afterlife) and John Riggi (30 Rock). Lisa Henson, Jim Henson’s daughter who serves as CEO of the company, is also an executive producer on the project, which still has a ways to go before (or if) it hits the small screen.

If there a renewed demand for fake and furry creatures? Hollywood will find out Wednesday when The Muppets opens in theaters nationwide. Meanwhile, some of the Muppets and star Jason Segel hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend.

'Gossip Girl,' 'Burn Notice,' and 'Unforgettable' stars talk what's next in the Spoiler Room -- VIDEO

Two down! Pretty soon, I’ll have a full AMC-length season of Spoiler Room: Video Edition in the bag.

In this episode, I bring you teases from a few people you might know: Kaycee DeFer of Gossip Girl fame, Bruce Campbell, and Dylan Walsh. But what really makes today’s video special is that it features the very first on-camera fan question. As I say in the video (but it’s worth mentioning again), thank you to every one of you who answered my tweet asking for video question submissions. You are all brave and awesome. There will be more chances to do that soon because, frankly, I’d rather see your lovely faces in these videos than mine. That’s not false modesty — it’s me not wanting to get up two hours early to get dressed on filming days. Yes, two hours. Isn’t that sad?

Anyhoo, come back here for your regular Spoiler Room column later this week. (Note: Follow me on Twitter for the latest on that. I MAY have an early Thanksgiving present for y’all.) Make sure you’re e-mailing me your questions, ponderings, and comments, especially if they are about what else you’d like to be seeing in these video editions. (They ARE for you, after all.) My e-mail is the same as always: spoilerroom@ew.com.

In the meantime, enjoy episode 2: Attack of the Clones, which means nothing, other than I can’t say the words “episode 2″ without my nerd brain responding “attack of the clones.” (Please tell me I’m not the only one… ) READ FULL STORY »

Taylor Swift boosts 'American Music Awards' teen ratings

Categories: TV Ratings

Taylor Swift may have won big on last night’s American Music Awards, but ABC can’t say the same.

The 39th annual AMAs delivered 12 million viewers and a 4.3 adults 18-49 ratings, steady with last year, but tying the show’s all-time ratings low. The upside: The AMAs had its biggest teen audience in seven years.

Also of interest in the ratings Sunday night: Fox’s new animated comedy Allen Gregory (4.8 million viewers, 1.9 rating) continues to sink, down 5 percent and putting quite a dent in the network’s lineup. NBC won the night with Sunday Night Football, which had a fairly typical 14.0 household rating. CBS ratings are messy due to football overrun pushing with the time periods, but it looks like Good Wife (9.7 million, 1.9) and CSI: Miami (8.9 million, 1.7) were fairly low.

'Castle' star Stana Katic on tonight's important scene that will alter Castle and Beckett's future

Categories: Castle, Television, TV Scoop

Stana Katic had her plate full when producers handed her the script for tonight’s episode “Kill Shot.” But she was more than up for the challenge of having to tackle one of Beckett’s most emotionally raw episodes yet. “I was really excited that we are continuing to delve deeper into the characters and keeping some of those major events we’ve played going and giving them a longer life, which is something that’s true this season,” she says. She’s of course referring to the consequences of Beckett’s shooting last season at the hands of a sniper, which this season, has sent the detective into a tailspin.

Tonight, Beckett gets out of control. If she’s not panicking during key moments, she’s uncharacteristically turning to alcohol to numb the pain she’s been reluctant to deal with. For Katic, the episode is full of telling moments. “I think this episode highlights the fact that she’s that modern-day hero who is not perfect, but trying to do her best,” she says. “She doesn’t always make the best choices or the right choices, but she’s trying to grow and push for her better self. It’s a character and hero people can relate to. I don’t think we have Supermen anymore. We have people who are flawed and those are interesting people to watch.” (See a clip from the episode here.)

Jesse James mocks 'American Chopper,' says he was offered the show first

Categories:

Jesse James is ramping up the smack talk as his live American Chopper bike-building battle against Teutuls looms.

With James set to compete against the Junior/Senior team on American Chopper: The Build Off starting Dec. 5, the former Monster Garage star says Discovery gave him the chance to star in Chopper first — and he turned it down.

“I was offered that show first,” James says. “And I turned it down. Because bike building is what I’m supposed to be doing and it’s from my heart and soul. I don’t just bedazzle a bunch of s–t for TV … [my bikes] are outlaw-looking and dangerous … I’ve never needed six motherf—ers to tell me my bike is cool.”

James also explains why he’s doing the live battle and claims he taunted the Teutuls into agreeing using a “Jedi mind trick.” Check it out in this exclusive video below. The best part is that James is inexplicably loading an assault rifle throughout the interview.
