You probably guessed NBC would promote The Voice during its Super Bowl coverage, but not like this: The network is going big with a special The Voice Super Bowl ad from Friday Night Lights and Battleship director Peter Berg.

The 60-second ad is titled “Vokal Kombat” and plays off an element of The Voice that’s unique to the NBC singing competition: The judges’ swivel chairs that turn to face a contestant during the auditions when a judge hears a performer they believe is deserving of a spot on the show. Of course, if more than one judge turns around to face the stage, they must compete against each other as they try to win over the contestant to their team. The ad takes this rivalry to new heights, with Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Cee Lo Green employing martial arts, weapons, and dirty tricks to win the battle royale. 'Survivor: South Pacific': Is Ozzy arrogant? Let's ask him!

Winning six straight duels (and an immunity challenge after that) was not enough for Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth to take home the million dollars on Survivor: South Pacific, but it did win him a cool $100,000 as the winner of the fan favorite vote. The fourth place finisher called in to chat about his final challenge blues, bizarre sprints, living-on-the-edge strategy, and why he voted for “spoiled brat” Sophie to win.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: What’s up with the sprinting out of Tribal Council every time? I love that!
OZZY: I have no idea. Tribal Council is always taking too long in my opinion. So I kind of like to speed it up a little bit, like when you need to walk from your seat to go vote. I’m just trying to hurry things up a tiny little bit. I understand that there’s a solemness to the whole occasion, but I don’t know, it’s kind of my thing in a way. READ FULL STORY »

EW’s Entertainer of the Year doesn’t look to be slowing down one bit in the new year.

Daniel Radcliffe is set to make his hosting debut on SNL Jan. 14, the network has announced. Lana Del Rey will be the musical guest.

The show also announced former NBA star Charles Barkley would return as host on Jan. 7, the first new episode of 2012. Barkley last hosted in Jan. 2010, when he also helmed the first episode of the new year. The musical guest this time will be Kelly Clarkson.

'Survivor: South Pacific': The winner speaks! And delivers parting shots at fellow finalists

It may have been the Coach and Ozzy show (with a side order of Cochran) for much of Survivor: South Pacific, but in the end, it was the medical student who took home the million dollars and the title of Sole Survivor. Sophie Clarke won challenges when she needed to — including the decisive last one against Ozzy — and handled the bitter jury better than Coach or Albert, leading her to victory and a celebratory chat with yours truly. Sophie called in to discuss how she won (a certain emotional breakdown at Tribal Council certainly didn’t hurt), and don’t think she’s above taking a few parting shows at her fellow finalists along the way.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: So, at any point did Albert ask for your million dollar check, but offer to give it back if he ever thought you were in financial danger?
SOPHIE: Uh…no comment. READ FULL STORY »

Official: MTV reviving 'Punk'd,' Ashton Kutcher to produce

Categories: Ashton Kutcher

A new generation of celebrities are gonna get Punk’d.

After months of rumors, MTV is officially reviving the hidden-camera prank classic, ordering a new version of Punk’d to series. Jason Goldberg and Ashton Kutcher are back on board as executive producers. But the show’s host is…

… a different question. MTV plans to announce the show’s host/hosts during its New Years Eve party live telecast next week. Access Hollywood reported months ago that a new show was in the works, using different celebrity hosts for each episode — and noting in the premiere that Justin Bieber is the man in the van. 'Survivor' finale down on low-rated night

CBS posted a rare win on Sunday, even though the Survivor finale wasn’t as heavily watched as it has been in years past. The 23rd edition of the show earned a 4.0 rating/10 share in adults 18-49, down 2 percent from last year and one of the franchise’s lowest-rated finales, according to early results.

The reunion special dropped to a 3.2/8 — down 6 percent from last fall’s reunion. The results will likely change in the afternoon and NBC, as usual will probably win.

Anyway, 60 Minutes had a good turnout (4.4/12), though it was buoyed, in part, by an NFL overrun (which earned a whopping 8.0/23). The news magazine was up 47 percent versus last week and earned 18.7 million viewers. Survivor and the reunion special attracted 13 million and 10 million, respectively. READ FULL STORY »

Billy Eichner's Top 6 Reasons To Watch 'Funny or Die's Billy On the Street'

Categories: Television

In the new music and pop culture trivia game show Funny or Die’s Billy On the Street, premiering Dec. 22 on FUSE, comedian Billy Eichner pounds the pavement of New York City ambushing pedestrians with important challenges like, “Miss, for a dollar, name two Anne Hathaway movies,” “Sir, little gay, little gay, which makes more sense, Tori Spelling or a crop circle?” and ”True or false, Celine Dion is 65 percent bird?”

Watch a preview below and admire his abilities to charm someone into almost admitting she’d like to have a threeway with Michael Bublé and Josh Groban and to yell at someone who can’t think of the title Love and Other Drugs. We asked Eichner to name five reasons we should tune in. He gave us six.  READ FULL STORY »

'Shameless' holiday video: Emmy Rossum sings (but not nude)

Categories: Cable, Shameless

To help promote the next season of Showtime’s Shameless premiering Jan. 8, the cast of the dark comedy gathered at a bar (which kind of looks like the one from My Name is Earl) to sing their version of a Christmas Carol — except this one dings grandma’s holiday turkey and suggests the best route home in case you partake in too much holiday cheer.

(In case you were wondering about the nude comment, Rossum repeatedly stripped down during the show's first season, prompting one journalist to ask her about it at Comic-Con. Read her reply here).

'Vine Talk' participants in money dispute: Reports

Categories: Television

Apparently a little vino can’t solve all of life’s problems.

Syndicated public television show, Vine Talk, is having trouble paying several of the participants who joined actor and host Stanley Tucci for installments of the wine tasting/chat show, according to the New York Times. Jersey Wooly Productions, the show’s primary producer, is said to owe about $500,000 to participants, including WNET, one of the show’s public television partners, which also housed the show in its Lincoln Center studio.

A spokesperson from WNET did not immediately return EW’s request for comment, but Tucci’s representative confirmed that the actor’s production company, Olive Productions, which previously was listed as a co-producer, withdrew from the project this past summer.

Vine Talk premiered back in April.

Jeff Probst talks about the 'Survivor: South Pacific' finale

Each week, host Jeff Probst answers a few questions about the most recent episode of Survivor: South Pacific.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Considering what an outsider Coach was among his tribe when he first arrived on the beach, he did an amazing job in getting to the end, but what was his fatal flaw? Was it making promises to too many people? Was it not bringing people to the end that would have been easier to beat, like Rick and Edna? Or was it all his double-talk at the final Tribal Council? It seemed like instead of just owning what he had done, like Todd in Survivor: China, he waffled and made apologies that probably didn’t seem sincere to a lot of the jury members. Where did Coach lose this game?
JEFF PROBST: His number-one mistake was bringing Sophie to the end. Ozzy and Albert both warned him. He didn’t see it. The fumbling at final tribal is inevitable when you play the way Coach did. But a more strategic move to keep Rick and lose Sophie may have resulted in a million dollars. On the other hand, without Sophie, Ozzy very well might have won the final challenge and beat Coach anyway! READ FULL STORY »
