Vacation’s over, Liz Lemon. The trailer for the upcoming sixth season of 30 Rock teases that everyone’s favorite “Night Cheese” crooner has got a secret that apparently only Kelsey Grammer can get to the bottom of. (Maybe he’ll also be running against Jack Donaghy for mayor of New York. Twist!) So what’s being kept so hush-hush? That she’s playing (and/or possibly cheering) for the WNBA team the New York Liberty? That her behavior has gotten so erratic (singing in public, grabbing her own boobs in an elevator) that even Tracy Jordan is concerned? We’ll have to wait until Thursday, Jan. 12, to find out. Until then, check out the promo, nerds: READ FULL STORY »

Barbara Walters previews tonight's 'Most Fascinating People' lineup
Barbara Walters is known for her restrained interview technique, her unflappable professionalism in the face of blubbering celebrities and tough-as-nails politicians. But there’s one bold-faced name — and an unexpected one at that — who inspired a rise in Walters’ usually measured timbre when she spoke with EW about her upcoming special, Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011. “I loved doing the interview,” spilled Walters of tart-tongued, deep-V-rocking X Factor host Simon Cowell.
Cowell was just one of the eight people Walters interviewed for tonight’s special, which runs 90 minutes for the first time in its 18-year history. Others included the Kardashians, Katy Perry, Donald Trump, and Derek Jeter. She will also profile Pippa Middleton and Amanda Knox. So what else did the interview queen have to say about Cowell and others on the short list? READ FULL STORY »

That’s right, the Who’s the Boss? star is set to guest on the Jan. 4 episode, titled “A Very Wrong Engagement,” as the mother to Johnston’s divorce attorney character, Holly. Bloody good! Chris Meloni joins 'True Blood'
Chris Meloni has booked his first post-SVU gig — and it’s a bloody good one.
The former star of the Dick Wolf drama will join HBO’s True Blood in season 5 as an “ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands.” He will be a series regular.
Meloni’s role on Alan Ball’s drama marks a homecoming, of sorts: The actor previously played Chris Keller on the pay cabler’s gritty drama Oz from 1998 to 2003.
Earlier this year, Meloni decided to step down from playing Detective Elliot Stabler on the long-running NBC drama.
Though no official return date has been set, True Blood is expected to bow in June.

Stephanopoulos in for Amanpour on 'This Week'
George Stephanopoulos will return to This Week while Christiane Amanpour — who hosted the political talk show since 2010 — will become ABC’s global affairs anchor. She’ll continue hosting a daily show for CNN International.
Stephanopoulos will start back at the morning show on Jan. 8, but will still keep his gig on Good Morning America.
Amanpour released this statement: “This is an exciting and unique opportunity for me to take my love of story telling to primetime at ABC News with multiple specials, as well as becoming a roving Global Affairs anchor across all ABC platforms. I am looking forward to getting back into the field to report stories on global issues that matter greatly to the American people. At the same time, I will be broadcasting once again to hundreds of millions of people across the world with a weekday show on CNN International. This role is groundbreaking, bold and very different! I am thrilled and honored. It’s been an incredible experience to have had a ringside seat to democracy in action at This Week. It’s been an incredible honor to anchor such a prestigious program and I thank all of you who have helped me on that journey.”

It’s time to meet Grandpa Grayson on ABC’s Revenge: EW has learned exclusively that soap vet William Devane has just been cast as Edward Grayson, the father of Conrad Grayson (Henry Czerny) and patriarch of the powerful Hamptons clan.
Our source says that Edward Grayson is summoned to Southampton by none other than Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe), to help in her divorce battle against her estranged husband Conrad. The Grayson divorce storyline will only continue to heat up when the series returns on Jan. 4.
As of right now, Devane is set to appear as Edward Grayson in episodes 14 and 15, which are currently scheduled to air in February. Episode 15 is the doozy hour that fans have been waiting for, where much about the beach murder that launched the series will be revealed.
Devane is known for a variety of roles, from movies like Marathon Man to Payback, but he’s best known for his 10 years playing the villainous Gregory Sumner on Knots Landing, the spin-off of Dallas.

'NCIS': Brian Dietzen and Larry Miller tease 'Meet the Parents'-esque Christmas episode
Jimmy Palmer has troubled headed his way. And his name is Larry Miller.
As EW first told you, the comedian will guest in tonight’s episode as Palmer’s (Brian Dietzen) father-in-law-to-be, and when we caught up with the pair to chat about the episode in a joint interview, the pair previewed an episode that’s Meet the Parents… with more murder.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: So what can you tell me about the episode?
BRIAN DIETZEN: Jimmy Palmer, as everybody knows, is now engaged, and he’s going to be having a wedding by the end of the year, and in this episode, his wife-to-be’s father — his future father-in-law — is stopping by to see where Jimmy works and kind of vet him a little more before they actually get to the aisle. We’re really fortunate to have Larry Miller come in. He’s been just a joy to work with and play with and adding a heck of a lot of humor to what could be a really dour character and making it live and breath. And the two of us have been having a hell of a good time this whole week. READ FULL STORY »
