ABC’s is reinvesting in Shark Tank. The network has ordered two additional episodes of the Mark Burnett reality series for this season, raising its count to 15 hours.
Shark Tank has made for a strong addition to Friday nights with an underdog success story that’s not entirely unlike the entrepreneurial efforts touted on the show. After twice squeaking through a renewal, Shark Tank has grown into a formidable competitor in a tough time slot and recently won the night. The show was definitely helped this season by the full-time addition of Dallas Mavericks’ feisty owner Mark Cuban to the panel. The part-time “Queen of QVC” Lori Greiner has had an enjoyable turn as well.
The new episodes will be culled from the unused footage shot for this season, but don’t worry — producers did this last year for some additional episodes that were ordered and you couldn’t tell any difference in the content.
