Matthew Perry could return to NBC’s Thursday night comedy lineup.

The actor just landed the lead role in the network’s single-camera-style pilot Go On.

Perry plays a charming sportscaster who tries to move on after a personal tragedy through the help of mandatory therapy sessions. Julie White co-stars as a recently widowed woman who’s stuck in the anger stage of grief. True, it doesn’t exactly sound like a comedy pitch, but it’s written and executive produced by Friends veteran Scott Silveri.

Perry fans won’t have to wait until fall to possible see him back on the small screen, he recently booked a multi-episode role on CBS’ The Good Wife.
