The producers of Two and a Half Men have figured out a way to bring back Charlie Sheen’s old character — except “he” will be played by a middle-aged female, instead.
Kathy Bates (Harry Law) will guest star as the ghost of Charlie Harper in the April 30 episode. The storyline: After Alan suffers a minor heart attack, Charlie’s ghost will pay a visit to his hospital bedside.
My, but Chuck Lorre’s version of hell can do a number on dead misogynistic jingle writers!
Though Sheen has started a new chapter in his life by joining the upcoming FX comedy Anger Management, he continues to take indirect swipes at Lorre, the executive producer of his old CBS comedy. Last month, he called TMZ Live and said bluntly, “I’m tired of lying. I’m tired of pretending the show doesn’t suck. I’m tired of pretending Ashton doesn’t suck. I’m tired of pretending they’re not completely adrift.” Four days later, he retracted what he said about his replacement but kept up the digs on the show. He posted this open letter on his website: “Dear Ashton, My bad. I was disrespectful to a man doing his best. I got excited and threw you into a crossfire. The rest of my statement I stand behind. You, however, deserve better. Safety in your travels good sir.”
