Bob Costas is going for comedy gold: The veteran sportscaster — who recently finished anchoring NBC’s Summer Olympics coverage — will guest-star as himself on Matthew Perry’s new Peacock sitcom, Go On.
In the episode, Costas comes to town with a career-changing opportunity for sports radio host Ryan King (Perry), of whom he is a fan.
Go On stars Perry as a sports radio host who is forced to sign up for group therapy because he’s having difficulty coping with his wife’s death.
NBC previewed Go On on Aug. 8 after the Olympics, and it drew about 16 million viewers. The show will debut in its regular 9:30 p.m. Tuesday slot on Sept. 11.
