Fox renews Gordon Ramsay's 'Hotel Hell' for second season -- EXCLUSIVE

Fox is booking a second season of Gordon Ramsay’s Hotel Hell. The network is ordering another round of the summer’s highest-rated new broadcast series.

For Ramsay, the show marks his fourth successful Fox show, and all are on the air the same year — that must be some kind of record. The media often calls X Factor judge Simon Cowell TV’s biggest reality star. But you could make an argument that Ramsay deserves that title. The chef is star of three series on the top-rated network (Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell), and is the lead judge on a fourth (MasterChef). All will return for another season (Hell’s is actually renewed for two more). Plus, MasterChef rose 12 percent in the ratings for its current well-received third edition — the only broadcast show this summer to grow its adult-demo rating.

In Hotel Hell, Ramsay takes the Kitchen Nightmares struggling-business-makeover formula and applies it to hotels, motels and bed & breakfasts. The show proved Ramsay can launch a hit outside of his usual culinary comfort zone. “The response to Hotel Hell has been truly extraordinary, and we’re really excited to have the opportunity to turn around many more hotels in dire need of intervention,” Ramsay said in a statement.

Added Fox reality chief Mike Darnell: “With Hotel Hell, Gordon has proved once again that he’s one of the most successful and appealing personalities on television. He delivered an amazing new show for us this summer that fans immediately embraced, and I can’t wait for him to get started on an even more exciting season two.”

The season finale of Hotel Hell airs Monday, Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. with Ramsay checking into the River Rock Inn in Milford, PA and the Roosevelt Inn, a converted 16-bedroom schoolhouse in Coeur D’Alene, ID.
