Now that he’s conquered the competition reality show genre, Cee Lo Green is setting his sights on the network sitcom biz.
NBC will develop a comedy that is based, in part, on Green’s relationship with his ex-wife and kids. He would potentially star and executive produce the sitcom, while Ali Leroi (Everybody Hates Chris) would pen the script. Green would play a top recording artist in the sitcom, natch. But make note: This is in the early stages of development, Voice fans, so it’s unclear whether the show will even go to pilot.
Green’s the second judge to score a gig away from The Voice, which returns Monday. Adam Levine has booked a spot on American Horror Story: Asylum, which returns to FX in October.
