Actor-turned-director Eric Stoltz will turn to acting again in November to guest star on CBS’ new legal drama Made in Jersey.

EW has learned exclusively that Stoltz will play Marcus Wheaton, the mysterious and controlling leader of Wheaton Farms in upstate New York. Martina (Janet Montgomery) represents the wealthy parents of a teen girl who ran away to live within this farm aka cult.

Stoltz recently directed an episode of Jersey, so clearly somebody thought, why not have the guy who warmed girls’ hearts in the 1987 film Some Kind of Wonderful just make a cameo, too? Speaking of which, Stoltz re-teamed with his Wonderful co-star Mary Stuart Masterson for EW’s annual Reunions issue, on newsstands now.

Stoltz is a go-to director for Glee, and has also helmed episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.
