Once Upon a Time‘s ratings went up Sunday night during an eagerly anticipated episode introducing Captain Hook to the fantasy series.
The ABC hit, which is also Entertainment Weekly’s current cover story, delivered 9.7 million viewers and a 3.3 in the adults 18-49 demo. That’s up 10 percent following a couple post-premiere ratings drops in recent weeks. Be sure to check out last night’s post where the Once Upon showrunners reveal which famous story characters they’d consider adding to the show (love their answer about Sherlock Holmes).
But wait, there’s more: The Captain’s rising tide helped lift ABC’s other boats. Revenge (8.6 million, 2.8) perked up 8 percent. And, here’s the real surprise, 666 Park Ave (4.9 million, 1.8) jumped 20 percent. This is the first time the freshman drama’s ratings have gone up. Yes, it’s performance is still very modest, but this is exactly the sort of trend reversal ABC has been hoping to see. The supernatural drama’s DVR numbers are also adding 53 percent to its demo rating when seven days of viewing are tallied.
Fox had live baseball coverage and NBC had Sunday Night Football. CBS’ schedule was off-kilter once again due to football overrun.
