Ugly, dull ratings this morning. Almost every Tuesday night show is down a little from its last original airing. Mornings like this, with numbers full of across-the-board slippage, you find yourself searching for a silver lining. Here’s one: While Fox’s lineup was lower overall, The Mindy Project perked up slightly from its last airing a couple weeks ago to 3.2 million viewers and a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating. The freshman comedy climbed 13 percent despite its New Girl lead-in (4.3 million, 2.2) edging down a tenth. Yay?
Though Fox had its Mindy bump, the network unfortunately also had the night’s biggest loser with its other freshman comedy — Ben and Kate (2.5 million, 1.1), falling 21 percent and tying a similarly despondent Don’t Trust the B (3.2 million, 1.1) on ABC with mutual series lows.
Another new project, CBS’ Vegas (10.4 million, 1.6) was down 6 percent to a new low. What’s interesting is that since ABC’s Private Practice (3.7 million, 1.1) also fell to a new low, NBC’s Parenthood (4.7 million, 1.8) actually won 10 p.m. in the adult demo despite dropping 5 percent and being, well, Parenthood. Again: Yay?
Here’s a couple other shows mildly improving: The CW’s Hart of Dixie (1.7 million, 0.7) and Emily Owens (1.4 million, 0.4) were up slightly, and so was ABC’s Dancing (11.9 million, 1.9) results show. NBC’s The Voice (11 million, 3.8), back in its regular time period after last week’s election coverage, was down from its previous Tuesday airing but matched its last Wednesday performance.
