Several shows hit season high ratings Monday night, including ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.
Dancing (16 million viewers, 2.6 adults 18-49 rating) had its final Monday episode of the cycle. That’s a season high for the All-Stars edition, though down 26 percent from last fall’s final performance episode. ABC also experimented with bringing back Extreme Makeover: Home Edition as a couple specials, but that didn’t turn out so hot.
NBC’s freshman drama Revolution has had its ratings ups and downs since it debuted in September, but the series enjoyed an upswing for last night’s fall finale. The stealth Western delivered 8.7 million viewers and a 2.9 rating, up 12 percent over last week and winning 10 p.m. in the adult demo. The drama was probably helped by lead-in The Voice (12.2 million, 4.2) rising too — up 14 percent for the show’s Top 8 performances. Revolution is now going on a protracted winter hiatus, returning in March when it will once again pair with The Voice.
Also last night: On CBS, 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly and Hawaii Five-0 hit season highs — that’s due, I suspect, to the addition of a special Big Bang Theory repeat helping boost the lineup. Plus, ABC not airing Castle at 10 p.m. probably helped Hawaii and Revolution. Just look at that Big Bang repeat number — it would be tempting to make 8:30 p.m. a permanent Big Bang repeat slot with that kind of number and given how much its helping every show that airs afterward.
