Parenthood
The NBC drama is down 14 this fall compared to last year. Yet even though the network ordered a shorter season this round (there’s only four episodes left), the family drama has performed well enough to probably earn itself a renewal for next year. Tuesday night’s hour will help. Parenthood had 5.7 million viewers and a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49, up 11 percent from last week. That matches the show’s season high and represents Parenthood‘s most dominant victory in the adult demo this fall over time slot rivals ABC’s Private Practice (3.8 million, 1.2) and CBS’ Vegas (10.3 million, 1.5).
Meanwhile, NBC had good news for the second episode of Howie Mandel’s Take It All (7.3 million, 2.3). Even with a weaker Voice (11.3 million, 3.5) lead-in last night compared to the game show’s Monday series debut, Take It All grew slightly in the ratings.
Also Tuesday evening: CBS’ drama lineup hit season lows, with NCIS down 22 percent from its last original episode. ABC’s annual Santa Claus is Coming To Town special fell 23 percent from last year and the network’s comedies continued to perform weakly. Fox’s Raising Hope and Mindy Project improved while New Girl was flat.
