Network anchors head to Newtown, Conn. to cover school shooting

After the tragic shooting in Connecticut today, the networks are readjusting their Friday night television plans.

ABC, NBC and CBS news’ broadcasts will anchor live from Newtown, Connecticut tonight.

Evening News with Scott Pelley on CBS will expand to one hour, from 6:30-7:30, and be broadcast from Newtown. In addition, Pelley will anchor a primetime report also from Newtown from 10:00-11:00 p.m. ET.

Diane Sawyer will anchor a special one-hour ABC World News from Newtown, and Sawyer and Chris Cuomo will co-anchor a special edition of 20/20 at 10:00 p.m. ET, followed by an hour-long edition of Nightline, anchored by Cynthia McFadden, at 11:35 p.m. ET.
