Have you ever been at a dinner where everyone is watching the same show – Breaking Bad, say, or Homeland — but nobody wants to talk about it, because they’re all catching up on DVR or Netflix or DVD, and the mere possibility of getting a minor plot point spoiled is enough to send a grown human person into hysterics? Well, a clip from the new season of Portlandia takes that situation to the logical extreme, as series stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein host a dinner party and wind up spoiling essentially everything that can be spoiled. Downton Abbey, Breaking Bad, Boy Meets World, and Chinatown all feature prominently — and “Michael C. Hall in the van!” counts double for Dexter and Six Feet Under — but most of these spoilers are actually pretty vague. With one noteworthy exception: If you haven’t seen all five seasons of The Wire, you probably shouldn’t watch this clip. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Watch below:
