On the heels of The CW giving its latest vampire drama a full-season pickup, The Originals rose Tuesday night to its most-watched episode yet.
The Vampire Diaries spin-off had 2.4 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49, climbing to a new audience record while matching its best numbers in the demo. The CW recently gave the show an additional nine episodes along with fellow freshman dramas Reign and The Tomorrow People. Originals partner Supernatural had its second most-watched hour of the season.
Other new shows posting gains last night: ABC’s freshman comedies The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife were up around 10 percent each.
Yet on the other side of things, ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fell yet again, decreasing 12 percent. While on Fox, Dads was down to a new low, with Brooklyn Nine-Nine slipping also. CBS and NBC were roughly on par with last week. Full chart:
