'The Voice' winner: 'It still hasn't sunk in yet'

Spoiler alert: The Voice‘s season 5 winner tells EW all about Tuesday’s finale, below.

NBC’s The Voice crowned Team Adam powerhouse vocalist Tessanne Chin as its season 5 victor Tuesday night amidst a flashy finale which featured performances by Lady Gaga, Celine Dion and more.

Entertainment Weekly caught up with the Jamaican-born singer on the red carpet shortly after she was proclaimed the winner.

“It hasn’t sunk in yet!” said Chin of her win. “I don’t think it will ever sink in — I’m still floored at the outcome.”

Despite being finale night, Chin said she didn’t go into Tuesday’s results show feeling nervous or uptight. Instead, she focused her energy on “getting up there and having a good time with [her] friends.”

In addition to performing with fellow season 5 contestants, Chin also got the opportunity to duet with Celine Dion, something she says she was honored to get to do.

“Celine’s just absolutely amazing and I look up to her so much — I always have and she is even better in person,” gushed Chin.

As for the future of her music career, Chin said she can’t wait to work with One Republic frontman as well as Grammy Award winning songwriter Ryan Tedder.

“I’m excited to be able to make some amazing music and finally be able to make an album that I know I’m going to be proud of,” said Chin of working with Tedder, who co-wrote “Tumbling Down,” the single Chin performed live for the first time during the finale.

As for her coach, Adam Levine seemed to be beaming with pride for his winning contestant as he walked the red carpet.

“I believe that she was destined for success whether it was on The Voice or abroad. I knew that this was going to happen in some way, shape or form for her,” said Levine.

When asked if he had any final words of wisdom for Tessanne, Levine said the best piece of advice he could give her is “don’t stop.”

“Going into this part of the competition, it’s always something we dread in a way because we want [our teams] to understand that success reaches beyond winning The Voice,” said Levine. “It’s a wonderful accomplishment but, and Tessanne knows this just as much as anybody, this is only the beginning.”
