NBC’s Dracula ended on a sucky-yet-improved note Friday night.

The ratings-challenged horror-drama delivered only 3.1 million viewers and a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating at 10 p.m. That’s actually the best number for the show in at least a month, and Dracula has actually improved its performance for its last couple episodes. The series is considered very on-the-bubble for a return, though NBC does seem committed to figuring out some kind of horror-drama block on Fridays with Grimm serving as the anchor — the promising second season of Hannibal moves into the evening next month.

Meanwhile ABC’s Shark Tank‘s had its best viewership and rating in the show’s history at 9 p.m. Check this out: 8.1  million viewers and a 2.2 rating in the adult demo. That’s pretty amazing. This is the show’s fifth season and it’s on Friday night its lead in is The Neighbors (which has a 0.9 rating, so Shark Tank is improving upon its lead in by 144 percent). Everybody talks of Fridays as the night where shows go to die, but Shark Tank proves it’s possible to grow nearly every season on the least-watched weekday.
